Home game in London

The NFL will announce Friday that the Dolphins' 2007 home game against the New York Giants is being moved to London, sources said.

Should this happen this is a HORRIBLE idea for us. Not only is one of our HOME GAMES taken away which we lose home field advantage, and in a 16 game schedule it's critical but were at the bottom of our division trying to get better taking any advantage we have away from us is bad.

It will probably be in the first 7 weeks of the season when the Heat in Miami plays in our favor. Why not send New England, or Indy or some premier team overseas to showcase the NFL not a team trying to rebuild and get some consistency..

New Head Coach, new position coaches and now we need to worry about the circus overseas. Preseason games ok NP. Mexico NP.

I understand the NFL is trying to expand, but unless they are going to expand the teams to include European teams the side show is a joke...

It's like the NFL wants to keep Miami down..

I think it's a horrible distraction too.

The only good thing is that we get a buy right after the game...

It's actually an honor they'd even consider picking Miami to be one of the first teams to showcase the NFL overseas.

It's not like our quality of play in recent years has warranted such an honor.

I'm a season ticket holder and have absolutely zero problems with this. If anything, it helps this franchise to expand it's fan base and in the long run it's a big positive all around.

It's a great move, it's not like Dolphin Stadium is this scary place for teams to come in and play anyway, so why not take the game overseas and showcase one of the most storied franchises in the sport? I can't think of anything bad about this.

Only thing I wonder about is when they will play the game. Obviously it won't be the Sunday or Monday night game because of the time difference. I wonder if it will be slotted in the normal 1:00pm game time. Kinda hard to make a big deal out of it when it is just one of many 1:00pm games. Not everyone will get to see it like the 49ers/Cardinals Mexico game.

I'd have to imagine it's a huge distraction for any team.......

Playing in London during the pre-season is one thing. The regular season is a whole different monster. I don't like teams playing out of the country when it's a meaningful game. That's just silly, if they do that, they should just give both teams an automatic win as compensation for losing a home game. Make it worth everyone's while.....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

it sucks, bad move by the NFL. Europe isn't interested in football, the league over there isn't doing well.

I guess it is a huge honor, but it would be more appropriate if it was a PRE-SEASON game...

Like the one they played in Mexico last year...

Oh come on. We're going to have a rookie HC and many other new guys on the staff and team. We have much more to worry about than winning the division or some crap like that (which is completley unrealistic). We have to worry about rebuilding an organization from the ground up before anything else.

This game is good for the league too, so accept it as a gift. Years from now when the NFL is internationalized we'll be some of the people to take pride in the Dolphins playing the first game in Europe. So shhh

They played in Mexico last year? The Cardinals and Niners played in Mexico a couple seasons ago in the REGULAR season...

i think its a waste as well...get over this 'honor' BS...our teams getting the shaft, a regular season game in europe is ridiculous!! i mean seriously...giants vs dolphins???!!? why is that some showcase game?!?! im a GINORMOUS fins fan, but we arent exactly playing for a SB every year, why not colts vs giants? or NE vs giants? I dont see how this can possibly help in the long run for anything...
