I see where the Raiders flew to London yesterday but the Dolphins fly out on Thursday. That seems a pretty big difference in approaches by the respective teams. There is a good chance that some players will have jet lag after an 8 hour flight.
Do you agree with the Dolphin approach or What Oakland are doing?

Oakland had to fly to NE, fly back to Cali, then fly all the way to London in only 1 week. They'll be far worse than us in regards to jet lag.

It isn't the length of the flight that is the problem it is the change of time zones. The Dolphins have elected to take a redeye flight leave FLL thur night arrive LHR Friday morning. Even though some people can sleep on a airplane it is not true sleep meaning your body doesn't receive a full sleep cycle without interruption placing you in sleep debt. The problem is London is 5 hours and arriving Friday morning isn't enough time to adjust and be at peak performance.

Are they definitely taking the red eye? I don't think travelling on the Thursday is a problem so long as the players stay on MIA time with their eating and sleeping (game kicks off at 6pm local time here in London). Assuming all players can get quality sleep on a flight is a mistake IMO.

Yes the Sun-Sentinel has reported they leave thur night. Yes staying on your current time zone pattern is how you combat jet lag, but given their schedule that is impossible.

Jet lag? LMAO
It is only a 6 hour flight to London by commercial jet. It is 8 hours to Germany.
Oakland has to travel across country...and then across the Atlantic.
In my experience, the lag really doesn't set in until a couple days later.

Most flights going to Europe leave late afternoon. While you are flying to Europe, you fly through the night and land in the morning of tomorrow all within a 6-8 hour flight.
Afternoon when you leave, and 7 hours later it is the next day morning.
No big deal.

Jet lag had nothing to do with the length of the flight! It is the time zones you change, and the effect on your circadian rhythm. You can fly 9 hours north to south in the same time zone and be fine.

Ok from your limited experience I can tell you that you could not be more wrong, but what do I know I only do it for a living 3-5 times a month.
