London Super Bowl In 2017?

As a league, expanding interest internationally is a near-full reward, no risk venture. And let's be honest, the vast majority of us never actually go to the Super Bowl anyways. I don't care where the Super Bowl is held, except Miami. I like it to take place in Miami often so we can have home-field when we make it to the SB :D

I think it would be a dumb idea. I mean think how expensive it is for your average joe to go to the game.
I like the idea of a neutral setting ,but that is a little extreme.

I have to admit as a Brit on this site and a long term fan of American Football and the ONLY sport I do follow. . then I am so grateful to the NFL for meaningful games being played here in the UK with the International Series and have been to both games so far here at Wembley and will be at this years game too. However when it comes to the SB I would love to see it here. . obviously. but the cost would be huge. . as the teams have to travel from the USA to the current International Series, tix are already more expensive than in the USA. As a result how much more expensive would SB tix be here. . I can currently get tix to the SB on line for around £2000 sterling up to over £7-10.000 sterling depending on the area of the stadium I am sat. . but obvioulsy i have to travel to your shores for that. . I can guarantee thought that the cost would still be around that if it were held here.
Then you have the issue of the kick off. . when we watch live in the UK KO is usually 11pm our time so 6pm eastern time your end. . this would mean that Wembley a hugely residential area will be turning out at 3am with no transport links running in the British February cold. . hmmm Im not so sure this would be welcome. .

Think it would be sad for a country, not just a sport, to lose its centre-piece occassion.

I mean its an American game, why take its biggest game away from America and the people who built the sport up?

I think its good of the NFL to share one game internationally a year, but by takeing away the biggest game of the year you are pissing off the people who make the sport.

London hosting the Super Bowl would be the equivalent of...

Los Angeles hosting the European Soccer Cup...or Atlanta hosting the World Cricket Championship...or Dallas hosting the Australian Rules Football Championship...or Denver hosting the World Rugby Championship...or Miami hosting the Canadian Grey Cup. I mean...American football is AMERICAN!!! What in God's name is Roger Goodell thinking??

If you want to have an American football championship game overseas, then at least first have American football overseas. Then you could have the Super Bowl Champions play the European American Football Champions..or the Canadians or whomever and then have a true WORLD champion. The point being, you don't take THE American sport and have its championship game, the most coveted championship game on the sports calendar played overseas where, in our already jacked up economic times MOST people, other than the rich wouldn't be able to have an opportunity to attend the game.

If this does go through, we all need to call for Roger Goodell's head on a platter.

I wonder if this means they are planning on holding the probowl there also?
