Just a play on words, but my point is that IMO neither Long is a certain cant miss player.

Seems many are saying that Jake is right now the "safe" pick, I do agree somewhat how ever I cant forget Robert Gallery another Big 10 all world Tackle.

As for Chris Long what I like is he is a 2nd generation player his fathers wealth to me means he could handle the wealth he would recieve being #1 overall, however I dont like the fact that a team would be using the first overall pick on a 3-4 DE look at the league now and the past the only true 3-4 DE I can recall that ever was a difference maker was Bruce Smith,I dont see Chris Long being anything close to B.Smith.

So again I am left unsure of who the phins should draft.

Either Long would be ok, but I am starting to lean toward Jake Long. He is better than last year's best O-Lineman Joe Thomas. He would be our LT for years, give our QB time to throw it, give RB and our running backs a huge hole to run through, be a huge help to Samson Satele....he would make so many people better. A great LT doesn't come along very often,,,,we can always pick up great DE's and D-lineman later or through free agency.

Excuse me but, Chris Longs dad was a difference maker as a 3-4 DE, 8 pro bowls, all-decade, all-time 3-4 end, pro football hall of fame.

Matt Ryan.

for every Robert Gallery there is a Joe Thomas and a Levi Brown. Long is not at Thomas's level of a prospect, but he is better than Brown.

Gallery as a bust is somewhat surprising, but he has moved around the Raiders OL a lot, and in his 4 years has had 3 different OL coaches so who knows how good he actually is, but he was surrounded by very good talent at Iowa including Eric Steinbach, and Bruce Nelson (who had to retire due to injuries)

so what are you saying that chris long is a carbon copy of howie.
Are you somehow guaranteeing us that chris long is worth 8 probowls, an all decade selection and a hall of famer.

bob griese was a good qb. what happened to brian?

why are we comparing father to son, when in fact, the end result will tell us nothing?

I agree completely.

Brian also did not get similar accolades to his dad, or to what Chris is to Howie. Brian was a walk on at Michigan who worked himself into becoming the MVP of the Rose Bowl. Chris Long was a fairly highly touted recruit who got his number retired at Virginia. Different levels of expectations. Joe Naimeth's oldest kid is walking on to ND.

Archie Manning was a HoF too, and his two sons aren't looking too bad.
