Strip your young QB of his LT screw with RT. Downgrade at blocking TE fasano to sims. Downgrade at RB & dont find a back who can pick up the blitz u will see ripple affect all over the field. Please fire ireland before we turn into the lions.
I'm telling you this coaching staff is terrible. The guys that left are all playing better. Sean Smith, Vontae, Jake Long, Kevin Burnett, Dansby, Marshall, Bush are ALL playing better. Philbin, Coyle, and Sherman are a bad coaching trio. And the guys Ireland replaced these players with, are downgrades. Marshall for Egnew and Sims? Vontae Davis for Jamar Taylor? Burnett for Wheeler? McKinnie for Long? It's a nightmare.
It seems that players hat leave Miami more times than not see more success with other teams. It's been this way for years. And in turn, guys who had success elsewhere come here and stink. It's been this way for a decade. This signifies to me it's a coaching issue of some sort.
Wouldn't it be a kick to the gut if Ireland goes somewhere with a good coach and builds a Super Bowl winner? Lol, that would be so Dolphins.
I dont think it was worth it to overpay Long but u have people here acting like there is no drop off at LT now and they are just seeing what they want to see
It definitely seems like the Dolphins are cursed. The coaches had nothing to do with Long being hurt all the time. That's why he's gone, plain and simple.
Let's get real here: If Long had stayed, he'd have gotten injured already. Not only that, but outside of a mental error, which may or not have been his, McKinnie was night and day better than Martin on Sunday. We could have had McKinnie all year but Ireland thought better of it. When Ireland thinks better of something, you know it's bad for the team and the fans.
The Dolphins were undefeated one season and for that we are cursed for eternity (it seems like). The current cast of clowns running our beloved surely won't get us anywhere near the Lombardi trophy. This decade seems like a waste, at least the half-decade. We do need new coaching and front office help.
Ireland's "grand plan" included Long, though he took the Rams offer. Fans complained at the idea of spending resources on the offensive line in the offseason, now criticize that enough resources were not used. Ah hindsight.
Our coaches never seem to build their schemes around our players strengths. ...weren't they trying to get Jake Long to play in a zone blocking scheme? they tried to run Reggie Bush up the middle, they'd send Brandon Marshall on deep routes (but not Mike Wallace)...didn't allow Vontae to play press coverage. Wake, Dion Jordan, Paul Solia, Dansby and Burnett would be kick ass in a 3-4 defense, but.....
I submit that If we had better coaching we wouldnt see any drop off, or a very very minimal one, from any of the guys we lost to the we replaced them with. I agree these coaches are horrible. Philbin is too stubborn to see what is right in front of his face and Sherman has proved he doesnt know how to use this personal. If he doesnt know how to use his personal he certainly doesnt know how to coach them. The majority of our OL are not atheletic enough to run his zone blocking garbage but he forces it down their throats anyways. This is also bad coaching as he isnt playing to his players strengths and putting them in a position to fail everytime.
We need a coach who has proven success in the league. I was highly on the Andy Reid bandwagon and now he has KC on the track to have a first round bye and homefield throughout, in his first year. Now im on the Gruden bandwagon. Cowher or Dungy wont ever come out of retirement I think.
his legs look much better this year...laterally moving much better...still he got caught trying to line up off the ball something he did last year all the time to try and compensate and something officials will probably be watching for going forward...
For credibility purposes didn't PFF have Clabo in the Top 5 or 10 of RT last year. Look I wanted Long to stay but he chose to leave & his play over the last 2 years showed he wasn't worth breaking the bank for.
