Long-Time NFL Coach Dies

This is sad news. He was one of our best coaches.

I always had the utmost respect for John.

May he rest in peace!
 
Never heard of the guy, but he seems like he was a great coach for us in the Shula era.

I remember when the Dolphins drafted linemen when they were raw and not really known they were referred to them as "Sandusky Specials"; he would groom them into all pros. I know Shula is hurting right now because those two were inseparable at times. It is sad day for the Dolphins organization because John like Don were nothing but class. :dolphins: :mad: :dolphins:
 
Yeah i knew him, he actually coached me when i was in high school for about a year. He was a pretty cool guy actually, he always used to say things like " You gotta fire out!" with this cool enthusiasm that you wouldn't expect out of someone so old. I wish his family the best.
 
Definitely a sad day for the Dolphins. Sandusky was a great line coach who really molded Stephenson into the great center he was. Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.
 
He was from the old guard under Shula....I was always happy that we had him and Bill Arnsparger with us...my prayers go to his family.

Yeah, he made Kutch an all pro at two positions...
