Wow. I was just thinking over some stuff Ive considered in the last couple weeks, but I forgot one thing.

Heres the original thought.
Detroit is wanting to lose that 2nd pick but, dosent want to slide too far. Ive always felt C.Johnson is by far the best player in this draft. IMO he will be one of the best handfull of WRs in the league as soon as he gets in. I toyed with the idea of a our #9, a second rounder, and a third to get in that spot just because Johnson is so much better than everyone else. Then I thought thats could be alot to give up if especially if we couldnt get a QB with the other 2nd rounder. I squashed the thought because I really do hate some of the fantasy trades that get brought up by fans. BUT THEN IT HIT ME.

This trade is genius for us. Its not some pipedream scenerio and going away from positions we need. Its not losing picks that we need because we have other holes and needs. IT MUST BE DONE....for this reason.

If we get Calvin Johnson, Trent Green, and Ricky comes back we win the BOWL THIS YEAR pal. How sick to have C.J, CC, and Booker a.k.a Spoonie Luv from up above. Chambers can hit the slot on 3rd downs. You could rotate the 3 out of the 2wr formations. With the best backfield in the league Green could have a field day. We could reasonably score 24-27 avg per game. If we do that out D will get us at least 12 wins. With that kinda O and the best D in the league how could we not be a SERIOUS contender?

Just remember what Moss did for Minnesota's offense in year one. He could catch anything deep down the sideline if it was in the air long enough. They scored crazy amounts of points. They were good enough to win it all but, choked vs. the dirty bird. 15-1 regular season. Johnson is even better than that cat. I watched Randy play in high school. CJ is better.

Because a 37 year old QB, a Rookie WR, and a RB who's one toke away from perma ban will get us to the super bowl behind that extremely dominant Oline we have /sarcasm

Come on man . Look at the facts closer and get rid of those pipedream scenarios .. Minnesota had one of the top 2 offensive lines in the league that year ..

Miami has one of the worst O-lines..

Green is a good player. He is younger as far as football years. We are only asking for a couple anyway.

Johnson is a guy who can change a game completely. He can stretch the field, catch really well, go over the middle, hit hard, break tackles, run fast, and play the ball in the air better than anyone I have seen. I guarentee the team that gets him has an explosive offense THIS SEASON.(unless its oakland). He is not an ordinary rookie. We arent talking about Yatil Green or Ted Ginn Jr here pal.

And get over Ricky getting high already. He is his own man. Give him that. Hes different from the robots in this country. You cant say he isnt a beast. Hes better than Ronnie(who is no bum), and hes really one of the best backs in the league. He was at least the last time he was in a phins uni. When he comes back he is the best player we have on offense and the 2nd best player on the team. Gamebreaker. Like Johnson.

I dont think so. Im really tired of hearing how bad our line is. Its not that bad. Shelton played well at RG last year and Carey is one of the best RTs in the game. We need help on the left side and an upgrade at center would be nice but come on already. You guys act like we have the worst line next to the faiders. I bet people in Houston and Arizona will bet you on that. Ricky will make our line look better than it is. Being able to handoff 35 times a game is an advantage to the O line. Green will get the ball out like Harrington did only not throw a bunch of picks. We didnt get sacked alot after Dumbte was benched. With those 2 playmakers and a good QB our O will look real good.

You have to take those Aqua and Orange glasses off pal. There's being a fan and there's being a homer. You are a homer.

Trent Green is not so young "in football years." He's coming off a concussion that could have ended his career and when he came back last year and was supposedly healthy he did not play well enough to be the starter for that team. However, for some reason Herm Edwards gave it to him.

As for what you say about C.J. you could quite possibly be correct and he could be the second coming of Randy Moss, hell even being the second coming of Marques Colston would be good. But he could also be the second coming of Mike Williams, a player everyone thought would be the most amazing WR in the draft who has struggled with weight issues and underachieving in his NFL career. I know weight isn't a problem for C.J. but it just goes to show you that with so many factors that contribute to NFL success you can never say that there is a sure thing in the draft.

As for the Ricky issues, I agree that it's his life and he has to make his own decisions. I personally smoke marijuana on nearly a daily basis. So I'm certainly not judging him for his habit. I'm simply stating that it is a concern and it is a liability. If he does get back into the habit of getting high, gets tested and fails he's gone and that leaves us with a huge void at the Running back position behind Ronnie Brown. This is all assuming that Ricky gets reinstated which at this point in time is still not a certainty as much as some of you would like to think it is.

And for the OLine, it is not the worst in the NFL, but it certainly is near the bottom. Carey is a great RT but he's only there because he couldn't cut it at LT. Shelton is a solid RG but he's only there because he couldn't cut it at LT. Hadnot is a solid C but played better in his time at LG. He fell into the C position because, simply, we had no one else to take his spot. If we can draft a LT and a C in the draft to step in and play and move Hadnot back to LG then we could have a good, young (except for Shelton) Oline that could clear some running lanes for Ronnie and/or Ricky. But in your scenario where we trade away so many picks for Calvin Johnson we don't have the picks to find those immediate impact O linemen.

So while, yes I do agree with you that Calvin Johnson in the best player in this draft and will make an impact in the NFL it's foolish for us to try to move up into a position to get him because of what we'll have to give up to get there. WR isn't our most immediate need and this is the deepest WR class I can remember in several years. There will be value for us at the WR position at 40 if we choose to pick one up there.

But I still don't see us winning the Super Bowl this year. We are not a better team than the Pats, Ravens, Bengals, Colts, Chargers or Broncos.

What the heck is that ?? You admitted Miami has 60% of the o-line left vacant, that all Miami has is an average right guard and a good RT .. That's it !! .. Minnesota had 3 pro bowlers on the o-line that year .. And two other very good lineman.

Not EVEN CLOSE !

Also, who cares about Houston and the Raiders ? I said Miami has one of the worst offensive lines in the league.. Hence "one" of the worst.. And all you did is prove my point ..

I agree with you 100%. But trade Books, for a picks if we get CJ.

1) He's better than Moss.

2)That statement tells me you just dont understand how good he really is.

3) Johnson and Landry are the two players I would say are locks to be dominant in the pros. Best two players. Cant miss. Yes you can say that. Have you watched Johnson play an entire game?

I tend to agree with you about the line. I like moving Hadnot too. There are a couple of good centers available day 1. I know we need a LT but, getting Johnson should supercede that need. I think anyone who has a shot to get him and dosent is a fool. It dosent matter who is already on your roster.

We will be better than those teams with Johnson.

Oh btw, I highligted that Ricky comment and forgot to respond. Him getting high again is a chance worth taking for us. If he dosent he is a huge factor for us. Gamebreaker. Best player we have on offense. He dosent cost much and you couldnt trade him for much. It would be wise to keep him even if its just for this year. Draft a back later on. Brian Leonard perhaps. He would give us versatility.

You can't say he's better than Moss. That's the point I'm trying to show you. You tell me that I don't understand just how good he is. I think you don't understand just how easy it is to fail at the NFL level.

Yes, I have seen Johnson play an entire game. We get a lot of GA Tech games in Alabama. He's a great specimen. And yes he probably will be good in the NFL. But the prospect of giving up that much to get a Johnson, a player who might touch the ball 8-10 times a game is not worth it.

I'm not in favor of trading Ricky Williams, you can look at my post history and see that. But can we be realistic and not homers, it's not a certainty that Ricky will be back this year. And it's not a certainty that he'll make it through the season. While I certainly don't hope Ricky gets suspended again it is something we have to take into consideration. If it happens we have to have a backup plan.
