The media and of course Jet fans will want you to believe that the dolphins were totally controlled this entire game and had no right in winning this game. Well look at these numbers. They're not as lopsided as they'd like you to believe.

Henne- 58% comp rate, 1TD no picks
Sanchez- 58% comp rate, 2 TD no picks

Average yds per rush-

Dolphins 2.9
Jets 3.0

3rd down efficiency-

Dolphins- 29%
Jets- 21%

Total Net yds-

Dolphins- 423
Jets- 530

Red Zone efficiency-

Dolphins- 100%
Jets- 60%

Goal-to-Goal

Dolphins- 100%
Jets- 50%

Now, if you look at those stats and also factor in that the way we scored basically allowed their team to have the ball for 10 minutes longer than us of course their offense is going to look way better. If Ginn doesn't return those two kickoffs, would our offense have been able to score? Would the Dolphins have been able to put together long scoring drives? Who knows?!

The facts are, when you look at the entire game, the Jets beat us in some stats and we beat them in others. However, we beat them were is counts the most... SCORE!!! :woot:

It's basically the same as us bitching about the Colts game. Stats are a consequence of the way the game played out, not a cause.

The only thing I bitched about in the Colts game was our inability to stop the big plays on defense.

Not saying you did, but the Phins fanbase did collectively. We dominated TOP, but that was in part because the Colts scored so quickly. Similarly, the Jets dominated yards from scrimmage, but partly because our offense wasn't the unit scoring and barely had the ball in the second half.

Great post, and agreed completely. In the 3rd quarter, our offense barely had the ball. Ginn scored, they got the ball, defense scored, they got the ball, Ginn scored again, they got the ball. Our offense was just taken out of the game because the we had to keep kicking the ball back to them!

The jests have a great defense, they've spent a LOT of money on that side of the ball.

They play us twice a year and know us well. How many rookies are we starting?

Second year players?

We are improving, they're not.
