Say what you want about Bob Kuechenberg's comments, but the one he made that was on the money IMO is that this team "has no soul."
Of course "soul" isn't a word you often hear used about a professional football team. So what the hell was Kuechenberg talking about? :shakeno:
For me a "soul" on a professional football team is nothing more than quality leadership among the players that establishes a team identity. A team identity in my book is a style of play a team can expect from itself come rain or shine. This team has none of that, so IMO Kuechenberg was right on the money.
Also notice that our current team leader, Jason Taylor, responded to Kuechenberg's other comments (Saban mostly) and not that one. Of course there could be several reasons for that, but my money's on the one that on some level Taylor knows Kuechenberg is right.
If we're gonna to go into Soldier Field and win this game today, we're gonna to have to have a soul. For me that means someone on this offense needs to step up and LEAD this effort.
I'm hyped about this one today fellas. I don't know if we'll win or lose, but I do think we'll see more of a soul out there today. And based on what I've heard so far I think our "soul man" will be Joey Harrington.
LET'S GO FINS!
