Guys the Jets just did them selves a favor by getting Edwards today, (the only reason is because he knew Sean Smith would shutdown Cotchery ), Yes he may drop them but he has shown he can produce and produce massivly as well.. But it was a desperation move that may come back and bite them in the ***..

We on the other hand are going to have to wait till the offseason before we see any moves of this caliber, I know we need a true #1 but there are plenty of good WRs coming out this year, Benn, Bryant, Lafell, Williams, maybe Green..So guys have faith the FO knows we need a WR, they gotta wait for the right one...

The problem is this F.O. doesn't seem to be interested in using a high round pick on a receiver. Let's play what if. If there is a Big time Nose Tackle prospect available at the same time as a big time Receiver prospect when we pick, which way do you think we will pick? I'll bet dollars for donuts it'll be the nose tackle. That's just the M.O. for these guys. I am not criticizing them because other than the glaring lack of a receiver on this team, most picks have gone well. I think they thought Ginn would show up to play this year and it simply hasn't happened. The only pick I have a problem with is the Pat White pick. They brought him in for a specific package for THIS year and it simply hasn't worked. We could have used that pick on any number of more needed positions rather than a "luxury" pick like White.

This year the only 1st round worthy reciever is Bryant everybody else is 2nd round talent IMO..

as far i'm concerned ... the Jets may be the better team in the short term ... and to be honest; I could care less... Edwards is a trouble maker... and in spite of his talent. i wouldn't want that on the Dolphins... BP has a history for building for the long term and i'm not going to dispute his success... i believe that he will address the WR position AGAIN if the RIGHT player is available!!! If it happens to be Bryant, Benn or either Williams from USC or Williams from Syracuse than so Be it ... BP would have to have lost his mind if he can't see the glaring needs at WR and TE ... we all have to keep in mind he is a defense 1st kinda guy ... and so far he has made all the right moves in building the defense ... all thats needed is a little youth at LB and for all of you who don't think Roth will be around, i'm going to say he will his strength against the run is and passion for the game is VERY RESPECTED by this F/O ... he'll be back IMO!!! Edwards can possibly have a great career in New York... but i'd trust BP over anyone in the Jets F/O .. give this guy some more time... WR will eventually become a strength ...

I wont be to upset if they get better Safeties but WR needs and #1 WR badly that will open up our other WR. i say keep GREG and BESS for sure everyone else is questionable except for heartline. Heartline has been do well SO FAR.

Hell I'd pick a 1st round talent NT over a 1st round talent WR... Its not just parcells, its anybody with a brain running a 3-4.

First off if they don't sign him to an extension then this is a useless move. 2nd there are potentially alot of high quality WR's available during FA. We are not Superbowl bound this year and are in the fight of our lives to just get back in the playoff picture, throwing away draft picks makes very little sense right now. 3rd the guy is about to be charged with punching out a 5'10 130 pound man, way to go tough guy.

We need a number 1 WR but not a dick head that is out for #1. The NYJ may have gotten better but really by how much? And at what cost - two impact players for them and two draft picks, no thanks.

Let's stay the course, let our young guys develope and continue with excellent drafts. E.Berry will knock the living day lights out of B.Edwards next year if he re-signs anyways!!!!!!

When has Bill Parcells ever built for the long term?

last i checked it started in New England with Bledseo and again in Dallas... both of those teams eventually started winning CONSISTANTLY after he took over... Belicheat has just carried on the BP ways in NE and even though Dallas doesn't win many playoff games; they seem to make the playoffs almost every year... they are a winning team built in part by BP same with NE .... perhaps SOME people won't recognize BP's contributions.. because of bias... but IMO he does have a very good track record!!!

He does build good foundations.

I really don't disagree, a big time nose tackle is the hardest spot to fill on a 3-4. I was simply pointing out that, even though it is one of our biggest need positions, picking a receiver is just not high on the list by the way they do things. They would rather try to score a late rounder the way the Saints did with Colston.

I do think if the Fins finish the way they started, (top 5 rushing, top 5 rush defense). WR would be a no-brainer in the first day of next year's draft. Maybe even in the first round depending of Big Paul's season.

Well they are going to have to replace Ferguson soon. Soliai is looking better all the time but they are going to need a replacement in the next year or two.

NT, ILB, and possibly Safety all take precedence over a WR in the 2010 draft.

I'm not saying we don't need a WR, I'm just saying we arent picking one in the first round.

Heck, I'd even put RT and LG ahead of a WR, Carey looks like crap and Smiley is just an injury waiting to happen.

I expect us to grab a FA WR though, there are a few coming available.
