He has a good point but I doubt this somehow

Backup to watch: Ronnie Brown
Yes, Ricky Williams will miss the first four games due to his suspension, but I think he will start eventually. The Miami Dolphins will do everything they can to get his trade value up because they realize this will be a one-year situation with Brown being their running back of the future. Brown will get a lot of carries the first four weeks of the season. After that, when Williams comes back, the Dolphins will have a platoon of backs to run at defenses and help take the pressure off the quarterback. Running the ball will be crucial for the Dolphins. That's why Brown will be in the best situation of any backup back in the league.

What do you doubt? That sounds about right to me...

Nasty

I agree with Cris but I do think it will be more of a "co starter" type of a deal with around a 50/50 split rushing and Ronnie in on passing downs.

Sounds about right to me too, the more we play Williams the more people remember how amazing he is and forget about his headcase habits, this allows Brown to mature nicely his first year an be brought along without huge pressure on his shoulders and if we do get rid of Williams in a trade next year he will have a good years experience.

I think they will split a lot of time. Look at what Minny did with their backfield over the past 2 seasons. Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see them both in the backfield at the same time with Brown having exceptional pass catching skills and trying to utilize him that way.

Better think again....

So you don't think Ricky will be taking at least half of the carries from him?

The scenario Carter mentioned is the one that makes the most sense. It allows for Brown to be eased into the NFL and for Ricky's trade value to be increased. Think just for a second, if Ricky dosen't play and sits behind Brown the Fins won't be able to get squat for him. If you think the Fins end goal isn't to end up trading Ricky for as much as they can get your kidding yourself.

IMO Ricky will get the majority of carries in every week from week 5 on.

I'm sorry but I will be LIVID if Ronnie isn't the starter. I'm not gonna pay somebody 20+ million in guaranteed cash, and not start. I understand we need trade value for Ricky but seriously, its a waste of money if Ronnie Doesn't start, that would be one year out of 5 that we may sign him too, and plus he can do more damage than Ricky. He can catch, which Ricky tends to drop quite a few, and is supposedly in better shape. I think Saban will do a co-starter type formula. Like what the Steelers did last year, Ronnie on 1st downs and Ricky on 3rd and 4th and Redzone.
