I was just looking at any scenarios that could help us pick extra picks in the upcoming draft...using the draft value chart http://www.nfldraftblitz.com/pick_value_chart.htm. I tried to look at some teams that might have some extra picks and maybe interested in trading up. I found that the Saints have 3 4th round picks.......According to the chart..the Dolphins #60 pick is worth 300 points....Just looking at that...it seems like we could get alot of that pick....

This is just my opinion and i was just wondering how anybody else would feel..according to the value chart we could trade the 60th pick for the 88th, 119th, 121st, and 153rd.....I would also say that we throw in the 183rd pick, if this deal really could be done....After looking at this and just being bored..I looked at what the Dolphins could get with those picks.....here is my mock with the trades

Round 1 #9 Tedd Ginn Jr (WR - OSU)
Round 2 #40 Brian Leonard (FB - RU)
Round 3 #71 Quentin Moses (DE - GA)
Round 3 #88 from Saints James Marten (OT - BC)
Round 4 #104 Leroy Harris (C - NC St.)
Round 4 #119 from Saints Baraka Atkins (DE - MIA)
Round 4 #121 from Saints Tim Duckworth (OG - AUB)
Round 5 #153 from Saints David Patterson (DT - OSU)
Round 6 #166 Martex Milner (TE - GA)
Round 7 #200 John Beck (QB - BYU)
Round 7 #219 William Gay (CB - Louisville)

There you have it...so what do you think?

I'm hoping that either G.B. or Denver wants to come up the board....and trades with the Dolphins.

I think St. Louis and Green Bay are both possible partners. St. Louis might want to move up and take Branch or Okoye. Green Bay might want to skip ahead of Buffalo for Peterson or Lynch.

It's an interesting scenario given the ties that Mueller has with the Saints (his brother is the GM if I recall correctly). So, something that could happen, although I don't necessarily agree with the players taken in your mock. Taking three other positions before we address the line is not something I would like to see happen.

For instance, let's say we swapped 1sts with St. Louis for their 3rd. The move up would let them take their pick from a number of defensive players that could help them out (Okoye, Branch, Carriker, Anderson, Hall). We would only be moving down a few spots and likely would still have a shot at many of the guys we are interested in. Here is a quick mock based on that (haven't really thought it out much yet):

1. Greg Olsen/Ted Ginn Jr./Leon Hall/Darrelle Revis/Adam Carriker/Patrick Willis
2a. Arron Sears/Craig Davis/Anthony Spencer/Zach Miller/Ryan Khalil
2b. Drew Stanton/Jason Hill/Quentin Moses
3a. Samson Satele
3b. Dan Bazuin/Ben Patrick/Andy Alleman/Baraka Atkins/Josh Beekman

Moving down really won't change much in the 1st, but that extra 3rd could mean a pretty quality player. Any of a number of combinations of the above players would have me jumping for joy come draft day.

I think this draft is loaded with very good players and I would have a hard time believing that a team would be willing to trade 4 picks just so they can move up to number 60 and get that player that they just have to have!!

Seriously think about it...It's about the draft picks and the more you have the better chance you have hitting on one of those xtra picks.Any team willing to trade 4 draft picks for the #60 should be sent immediatly to the arena football league to serve out a penalty for stupidity.

I would love if they did that. My favorite scenario would be trading the #9 to New England for both of their 1st round picks (#24 and #28). This is a deep draft and I believe some very good players will be available with those picks. I've seen mocks with Reggie Nelson and Dwayne Jarrett falling that low. How would you like a draft that went like this:

1a Reggie Nelson
1b Dwayne Jarrett
2a Joe Staley/Ryan Kalil
2b Drew Stanton/Trent Edwards/Kevin Kolb

In my opinion that would be an excellent draft.

With the quality of players available as you mention why on God's green earth would New England move up to #9 when they could stand "PAT"
and still have 2 starters with both there picks...New England didn't get where they are from drafting stupid and I doubt it happens this year although there free agent aquisitions is far from the norm for them.

I think this is right on here. I also think nothing will happen til draft day and Mare might be bargaining chip. Great find. But I think we are waiting to see what happens with Quinn and Brown. Just MO.

Marten most likely will not be their in the 3rd and a absolute for sure thing that Beck will go 1st day.

IMO the Dolphins motto should be "Quinn or trade down". But trading down is not easy to do.

If we are going to trade down, I doubt we are going to get multiple picks. Just think of some of the guys that have been outright cut recently. Teams couldn't even get 6th and 7th round picks for them. Teams are showing a tendency to want to hold on to picks . . . so I just don't see someone sacrificing three or four picks to move up in this draft. If we are lucky, we'll find a team in the middle of Round 1 who doesn't mind giving up a 3rd to move up. If we're really lucky, we'll find a team in the 15-25 range that doesn't mind giving up a 2nd to move up.

I doubt the Pats would give us two 1st round picks for ours. They have the potential to pick up two valuable players where they are, and I just don't see someone in the #9 range that they would be salivating for.

I think you are exactly right. We won't move until we know for certain that Quinn is not dropping to us. The second he is picked I think we will be on the phone with St. Louis, Green Bay, Denver, etc . . .

why take ginn at number 9 cuz he is falling in the draft and we could trade that pick down to get him and pick up extra 2nd and third? plus i believe you are only allowed to have ten picks in the draft.
