Looking at FA for the all-important backup QB position

I honestly think the odds of any of those guys doing better than a 2nd-3rd round rookie are pretty much even... While the rookie will cost significantly less.

I say get both a veteran and a rookie, developmental who has potential and hasn’t found his ceiling yet.

I strongly doubt if any pocket-type QB would do well in our system.
Honestly, I believe that it is so heavily tailored to Tua's strengths, anticipation and accuracy, that few could run it even remotely well.

You can't really change your system mid-season because you're gonna start with a bunch of undersized, but very quick 'skill' players, and a zone-blocking line... and these guys do what they do.

So... I'm going to bring in the best running QB I can find... I normally would not go this route, but with our offense, I think a waaaY off platform guy gives us our best shot.
I agree that this would be a good approach.

If we take this approach, I'd need to see a drafted late round QB for developmental purposes.
I would do that w higher ceiling 2nd to 5th rd qb. Later rd qb in miami ain't going wk like other teams. Taking chance on qb in early rd ain't going kill dolphins. I am just voice my opinion. Don't mean dolphins will do it.

Yeah maybe but not sure they’ll be anyone. This is a very weak qb class from top to bottom. I like Will Howard and Kyle McCord just declared, he’s a very good scheme fit. Similar to Tua, highly accurate and gets the ball out under 2.5 seconds, great with fakes and play action. Not sure where he goes.

The thing about Cousins is that He is owed money from the falcons if cut, so you wouldn’t have to pay him much just like Russel Wilson.
I do not believe the Falcons cut Cousins. Their issue was another retread HC who was unsuccessful his first go-round. Typical NFL. Adam Gase. I can name more.

Rosen was brought in to be the chosen one. It cost us a High traded pick. Z. Wilson would be a cheap reclamation project, costing us a 6-7th rounder.
James…. Wonder if he has matured personally. Also, not terribly accurate when pressured. Some injury history. We can do better. Tired if reaches and reclamation projects.

I understand that. I’d take a shot AND draft a mid round QB.

another undersized, immobile, weak-armed left-handed QB?! :(
LMAO. Gabriel immobile? Tell us you have never watched him without saying it. Gabriel is plenty mobile, and he is tough. Doesn't have a cannon but his arm isn't weak. Unless you think Tua's arm is weak. He is very well suited for the timing-based offense designed for Tua.

I think I said “if they cut…”

I keep Huntley as a third string then bring in either Fields, Jimmy G, Winston or Marriota for second string.

I do like Davis Mills as well just not sure as a second string. Might bring him in to complete with Huntley for third.

Huntley ain’t it. Sign a vet and invest a 3rd, 4th, or 5th round pick on a decent developmental prospect.
