Looking at FA for the all-important backup QB position

No.

Their car was worth more to them as junk. That is all anyone is entitled to say without knowing a specific individuals' reasoning for junking their car.

In general, we need to consider that getting a new tire is less expensive and a lot easier than getting a new tire.

If tires were scarce, the car would have probably been sold off for parts and not junked.

You need to consider those two conditions separately

Ray is Right - Again. - LOL.
Got it

If the line is FIXED next season why worry about a backup. I don't see any in there dominating in these playoffs. With the way our cap looks were are not going to get a " serviceable" back up and a stout line. Expect the premium to be high for a dolphin QB2 due to team history.

Tell me you don’t know what immobile means without telling me you don’t know what immobile means lol
Gabriel ran a 4.83 40. He averaged a whopping 2 yards per carry this past year 😭
In college, yards lost in sacks count against a QB's yards rushing total. You are basing your flawed immobile claim on that? WATCH HIM! You could see he is mobile. If you watched him, you'd know that his ability to extend plays with his feet is one of his strengths. He ran for 19 TDs over the past two seasons. Do you think those were all 2 yard runs? lol.
Shedeur Sanders is mobile, right? His average yards per carry were -0.6 over the past two seasons.

Dear Chris

I gave you one more year in good faith. Don't f**k this up.

Yours

Mr Ross

Just jesting. Who knows what the answer will be. A vet and drafting a QB seems the most logical route. I just hope they get it right this time.

Howard is becoming more and more interesting with each playoff win.

I know he's not considered to be a quarterback that can take over games, but he's reading the field well, and making good decisions. He also moves pretty well and is 6-4, almost 240.
Yeaaa... Howard needs to be the pick. I watched ALL his highlights and he is consistently accurate. Goes through his reads, quick release, a nice arm, and Josh Allen size.

Is it possible and how much would it cost to get Joe Milton III from NE ?
Probably not an option, since I think he outplayed Brisett for the back up roll

Eagles OL is way more than serviceable.

I go back and forth between Howard and Dart. I think either would work.

Posted this in the other thread but I guess it's more in line with this particular thread's topic:

I don't know that it's ultimately all that important to have an expensive veteran backup behind Tua.

Tua didn't finish the '19 season in college due to the hip injury. In fact, he was banged up and immobile in '18 prior when he got pulled from the Georgia game unable to even walk off under his own power. He really didn't finish either season in college in anything like a healthy state if you're being honest about it.

As a pro, he obviously didn't finish the '22 season given the concussions and this year he didn't finish the season either when the Playoffs were literally on the line and we were facing beat-able opponents!

The likelihood that Tua gets hurt next year is high (as always) but he's really only finished a season heathy like...2-3x depending on what your definition of healthy is. So if Tua misses time next year, it's better to just abandon all hope rather than pray for some contingency.

I know it sucks but you basically just have to pray that Tua starts 15+ games or else you're just dead in the water.

If Tua does get hurt again in '25 then he needs to be replaced pretty much immediately in which case I don't think we'll be coming off a big Playoff run or anything. If that's seriously the case that he misses time again in '25 then you really shouldn't be worried about backup QBs at that point because the room is going to get entirely turned over.

You can add a veteran backup QB but (a) it might be expensive, (b) it doesn't really guarantee wins and (c) it won't really matter when you have to replace the starter anyway.

If your starting QB is out, winning is probably more a function of who your opponent is than who your backup QB is. Sure, some guys give you no chance whatsoever, but in Tua's absence over the last few years Miami has managed to beat the Patriots, Jets and Browns. Your best chance of winning is simply to face a bad opponent.

If you start a back-up QB against someone good like the Chiefs or BIlls, it's over before it gets started.

Howie Roseman emphasizes building the trenches. The Eagles are dominant on both lines. He has also done a good job adding play makers. Both the Eagles and Lions look strong. I hope whichever of them makes it to the Super Bowl, wins it. Don't want to see the Bills and tired of the Chiefs. Would rather see an underdog like the Texans make it or see Lamar get the monkey off his back with the Ravens making it. I don't like the Ravens but of the top 3 teams left in the AFC they are the lesser of 3 evils.
