Looking at the positives (It aint that hard)

I so agree on your QB analysis. Watchign good QBs int hsi league they just loo comfortable and seem to be at ease or just smooth, not jumpy. Watching our QBs, I thinkwe shoudl go with Gus and really groom BErlin, he really looks pretty damn good, better than Feeley has ever looked in my opinion. The only thing he has against him is his size though, that sucks.

Typing with your elbows again?

The defensive play in the entire 1st half was encouraging. The D didn't give up a point until , what 24 seconds left in the half? That TD was a stroke of luck, too. It was a great catch by Wilford, true, but he was lucky to have it tipped his way. I'm anxious to see our defense in the regular season.

As for the offense, I notice some people are already hitting the panic button. With that mindset comes the assumption that there won't be any significant improvement between now and opening day! That would mean that the next 3 weeks of practice are a waste of time. However, it's always my been my belief that to get better you practice. With that said, I've already seen some improvement. The O-line looked better, as did the running game.

I am not worried at all. But on another note, do you think the 1st team will play a whole half next game? Would like to see them play more and more each game to be prepared and to make evaluations.

This makes perfect sense, they need all the practice they can get considering all the changes:)

I think our first stringers played well....luck really wasn't on our side in this game. We gave up a punt return, one circus/tipped ball for a td, and another circus catch that lead to a td. That is an easy 21 pts that can be corrected by a little luck and solid special teams. This game was closer than the score and our first stringers did better than theirs did.

Our D will be dominating this year, Our running game will dominate, the only thing scaring me is our QB, if we havd an above average QB, we would be in the AFC championship game IMO, no doubt, only problem, Felley and Frerotte haven proved they are above average or even average..............yet

Gus is a decent NFL QB. He looked pretty darn good last week. All of a sudden some of you think he sucks, because he had a mediocre game against one of the toughest defenses in the NFL.
It was also preseason, with no game planning. Even Marino had some pretty lousy preseason games. Losman didn't look so hot either.
Let's stop with these ridiculous premature judgements.

To be honest about it, Marino usually had lousy preseason games. It was only when the regular season lights came on did he start getting serious.

I'm onboard with you here. I'm amazed at some of the posters stating that, based on the past 2 pre-season games, we will be horrible this season. Even after Saban stated (as did you) he hasn't game-planned, yet. Even after hearing that the focus has been on seeing who can play and who can't. Knowing that by opening day 1/3 of the players on this team will be gone, how can someone think that our pre-season play is going to be an accurate reflection of how we look during the regular season?
