Tua time!
Bottom line is we had all the non qb cards at 3 in the best damn draft in probably the last 20 years for hofs and non qb impact players and we screwed the pooch with it.
First ballot hall of famers all over it and we took a 185 lb wr at 6.
Philips was the literal only chance to rescue that draft haul and his career has been derailed by injury. Bad luck? Maybe but injuries (albeit head) were why Philips was available at 18 to begin with.
Honestly it would have made more sense had in terms of draft value if Miami had taken Philips at 6 and the 185 lb 5 foot 10 wr in waddle with the slot and gimmick skill set in college at 18.
Im not saying waddle hasn’t shown to be more than that but his best season was his rookie year when he showed he could be a go to sticks iso on underneath routes even (something his college tape didn’t foretell) and it’s been downhill ever since.
Entire draft was in our hands and we didn’t even get one elite player. Typical.
