Looking for positives...ONLY POSITIVES PLEASE.

Does anyone realize that we just lost to the bengals... our offense was horrible against a horrible defense... we couldn't make a stop when it counted... i've been a huge believer... but you gotta believe this now... we're in for a very, very long year.
Their defense played very well. They executed and put pressure on AJ from all sides. But imagine if we had been playing the Ravens or Pats. AJ is going to need a new mouthguard after next week when the Steelers come on through.

I know it's hard to believe .. however this is not the same Bengals team from the past, and our offensive line is the worst it's been in years.

we can only get better (then again I said the same thing after the Tenn game)

Okay, here-a-goes:

1. Damian McIntosh is healthy. He needs to step in for Turnstile Smith. Carey should step in for St. Clair. That should at least give us some punch up front. Right now, the passive Smith and St. Clair aren't getting it done.

2. Injured players we'll get back soon that will make a difference: Konrad, Surtain, Bowens, Howard, McIntosh, Morris.

3. Guys who stepped up for us in place of injured players: Will Poole, Bryan Robinson, Dario Romero.

4. Special teams look like they could be special for us. Provided Brightful holds onto the ball, we have some pretty good ST.

I think Mare did a lot tonight to help rebuild his confidence. Turk is punting well. And I thought our special team coverage and return teams played very well.

Obviously the D played GREAT. And I was happy with how the offense played at the end of the game. I think Foerster was allowed to call the plays he wanted to withotu Dave's handcuffs on. I also think we showed that we have very good depth on our DL and secondary.

at least Buffalo is 0-2 as well...thats a positive.

If we can go 5-5 into the bye, we'll be fine . . . . :couch:

This has been the problem for the last two years. Each year they say they will address it in the offseason....I don't know about you, but I don't think they did a good enough job yet!
This group is MUCH MUCH worse than the lines of the past two years. In the past our O-line got ran over, but these guys didnt even fall down to provide speedbumps....they just stepped out of the way. On most plays 2 or 3 linemen obviously had no clue who they were supposed to be blocking. Getting beat physically is one thing, but not even knowing your assignment is another. Either the guys we got in the offseason (and W Smith too) are too dumb to understand their duties or the O-Line coach doesnt know how to coach them. Or both.

The McMichael thing is huge. Somebody needed to step up as a vocal leader on that offense.

I agree that Konrad and McIntosh will make a big difference. And if Carey can at least be a good run blocker he may create some lanes for Gordon.

Our defense did well, but remember, Carson Palmer threw about 10 passes in the dirt. His guys may have been open, but part of our defensive shutdown is because of inept Bengal QB play.

After struggling though that game last night, the only positive was....

It ended, and didn't go into overtime.

There are positives to come from this game, to be sure:
* The entire defense looked phenomenal. Especially considering the Phins were playing backups in a lot of different places. Assuming Bowens, Surtain and Howard are back next week, we're in good shape against a Pittsburgh offense that isn't anything special.
* Sam Madison proved that he's still got his fastball. It's clear now that his problems last year can be pinned directly on Brock Marion; Antuan Edwards is a player.
* Will Poole looks like the steal of the draft.
* Feeley is getting comfortable with Chambers and McMichael.
* Every week that goes by means that all the new parts are more integrated into the offense.
* Every week that goes by means that Damion McIntosh is a little healthier. That's good, since he's pretty clearly the best LT we have.
* Kick coverage units were good; a must for a team that's going to need to win by playing the field position game.
* The coaching staff is sticking with Feeley, despite an awful game. That's a good thing.
* The offensive line can't possibly play worse than they did last night. I mean, there's no conceivable way.
* The offense was so bad that the Phins should have been blown out of the building, yet they were still in the game at the end.
