With the news that a committee consisting of the usual circus performers and Tannenbaum are leading this coach and GM search, I am already resigned to the fact that this will be another failed coaching cycle. With that in mind, I do see some genuine hope on the horizon for 2019 (or maybe 2018 if we are lucky!) in the form of one JIM HARBAUGH.

Harbaugh is Ross's white whale, but he was OK with him going back to his Alma Mater so didn't try to harpoon last go around. But in 2018 or 2019, Harbaugh might have already restored Michigan to greatness and ready to take on the NFL once more to finish what he started. That is where Ross could FINALLY make things right with this fanbase. It would be his opportunity to completely gut the failed goons that have been steering this rudderless ship for the past decade of despair. With the front office wiped out, he could tap Jim Harbaugh with the opportunity to rebuild the franchise in his own image, giving him total control and the deepest of pockets.

I feel that this is Ross's ONLY opportunity to redeem himself as owner of the Dolphins before he dies. At least its the only hope I am clinging to now...

Then we can post "looking forward to the coaching search in 2023!" By then Harbaugh and his abrasive personality would have worn thin on the front office and fans and we'll be wanting to move on.

I would slit a nun's throat to get a Harbaugh coaching this team. What is Jack doing these days?

I for one am not looking forward to it all. It's just going to be bad. And not even Ed Wood it's-so-bad-it's-good bad. Just bad.

The pursuit? Or if Harbaugh actually became coach? If so, why do you think that?

The pursuit. Because it will definitely not end up with Harbaugh or anyone of that class, just as firing Jeff Ireland led us to Hickey and Tannenbaum, not Tom Gamble.

I hear ya... I'm hoping he sells the team before then though (I know he won't, but we can hope).

I'm not going to jump off a bridge for this ****ty team. I'm going to kick them while they're down.

I am hoping that Ross has the business acumen to know that he has to take a different approach for this "investment" to pay dividends for him. Being a Michigan man (their business school is named after him after he gave more than $100M to them) should give him the wherewithal to turn the operations over to the professionals and then sit back and enjoy it. But, unfortunately, I don't see him doing that since the franchise is just an expensive hobby for him.

Though I would never say never, I seriously doubt Jim Harbaugh ever leaves Michigan.

That's a great line

Actually Jim built his mom and dad a home in Ann Arbor and moved them close to him. Jim seeks advice from his dad often and just hired a new DC with Jack's input.

I see. Well in that case, I'm looking forward to the 2030 offseason (when Ross is mercifully done with this franchise)
