I like the things I saw today... after 1-15 and a rebuilding offseason... we played good till the end.

If we were to attempt to upgrade our WR group, who is available?

you can't upgrade at any position during the season. whoever we brought it would have to learn the play book and gel with the offense before doing any good, which would take a month or two. It'd be pointless. Lets just give the guys we got a chance. Whats the worst that can happen? We lose? oh no.

Agreed, I still think we should trade for Boldin though. I wouldn't mind signing Chad Jackson either. Our WR is one or our weakspots no doubt and needs to be addressed somehow.

next year, we are drafting Crabtree, i'm posting this on every WR thread and i'll put it in my sig right now, he's our savior

I agree with giving the guys a chance to develop. But I disagree with your "you can't upgrade at any position" statement. That's is why the trade deadline goes into week 6 and not at the beginning of the season.

I am almost certain we will be using the draft at the end of this season to improve our WR, LB and DB needs. But we need to find at least a patch job for this season to give CP a chance to throw the jump ball or to be our go to receiver. if we had this it would open up the O... especially the run.

Teddy Ginn has amazing speed and will pan out to be a good WR, but he is not physical enough to fight for possession in the red zone nor does he have the height to pull it out of the air.

Camarillo was our best WR today. I like GC, but he is a #3 at best.

Bess was a steal, but again #3 at best.

Hagan and Wilford were holding Becks hand on the sideline.

I am not complaining at all, I like what I saw, that's why I think if we could patch the WR position this season, we can actually compete this year...

Yeah, but who was the last player you saw traded during the season that paid real dividends to their new team that year? I can't really think of any.

Chambers to the Chargers? All I know is he sure helped us in getting the QB of the future :hi5:

You're going to tell me that if we trade for a WR like Boldin are Offense won't open up?

The reason why we lost is because we had no deep threat so they play every one in the box... That's why our running game wasn't there...

People on this board have run wild saying this and that, but the truth is that this coaching staff tried everything they could trying spread out the D..

I agree 100%........our wr's nedd help big time, they were terrible today. Unless we can throw the ball downfield, this is going to ba a very long season.

its not 100% the wr faults. tedd ginn was open a couple of times down the feild but chicken arm chad couldnt reach him.im a newyorker and im the laughing stock of my neighborhood. all my jets friends are killing me they keep on saying remember that guy u called chicken arm chad well thats your problem now. i swear i dont wish injury on any 1 but if pennington goes down i would not be upset 1 bit. im devestated about today and i am taking it pretty bad. o had jets fans calling me all day and i have about 30 texts saying chicken arm. im gonna have nightmares tonight about chicken arms.

There were alot of receivers we could have had as free agents that could have helped us today. Devery Henderson, DJ Hackett, Bryant Johnson, Antonio Bryant and justin Gage. We could have drafted Desean Jackson.

Hell for all the talk about Jarret being a bust he outperformed our draft pick week 1. Wide Receiver needs addressing real bad.
