How would you define success for Henne in the first half of the season. By td's? By a lack of turnovers? Although not mindblowing figures, I'd say a 2-1 td/int ratio would be an upgrade. If he can put up 10-12 td's and no more than 5-6 ints in the first 8, I think our defense keeps us in games. We need the defense to shut out opponents in the 4th qtr.
What I'd prefer is Henne to go 15 td's and 4-5 ints over the first half of the season. Oh, and please Henne, no late 4th qtr ints costing us games, PLEASE!

PROTECT THE FOOTBALL, I'm not looking for huge numbers from him but if he can play smart football like pennington did and not turn the ball over then we will be in contention, our defense will keep us in games, he just throws way to many INT's and we cant have that, just play smart football and dont give the ball over to the other team maybe 12TD's and 6INT's for the fist half, and for the season 23TD & 13INT, all I'm asking is from him is to protect the football!

Henne will be defined by team record. Henne could have a 1:1 Td:INT ratio and if the Fins are 8-0, nobody is going to care. Kyle Orton had a 20 to 9 ratio and many Broncos fans cant stand him.

Henne could have a similar ratio but will be over criticized for every bad throw or any lack of a down the field throw . . . specifically in a loss. Henne really has a tough road ahead. I actually think it would have benefited him to start on the road . . . can you imagine him having a bad performance in primetime against New England on that Monday Night game at home? Just thinking about it . . . ugh.

Wins and loss are the big thing. We need him to not make mistakes and make enough plays to allow our amazing defense to win for us.

And btw if in the first 8 games he has 15 tds and 4-5 interceptions even WV will think he should be a probowler

I'd love to see smart football like Penny, and Kdawg, if there was ever a game where Henne would melt it'll be the NE game on Monday night. I hope our defense buries Brady.

Team wins are most important, but there must be a gauge where Henne himself, in his position, is defined. Those things that make the coaches (and fans!) say that Henne is the guy, or he isn't. So many factors are involved in that decision. While I maintain he just doesnt have "It", there's also the other factors like new OC, possibly better line, 3rd year in, etc.

He needs to throw more Touchdowns than interceptions.....period....I don't think he will though. I won't be happy until our QB has at least close to a 2:1 ratio and the chances of Henne doing that are almost 0 in my opinion

It's about winning not stats, if henne's #s are medicore but he's making plays to win games that would be ok for you guys, if he's putting up #s and making mistakes to cost you games what good does that do?

Henne is successful in my book if the offense is scoring TDs, not FGs. I don't care if Henne is throwing them or if Bush is running in every single one, but this offense needs to put points on the board. 3 TDs a game.

Chad Henne doesnt have great arm strength like everyone talks about. sure he can rifle it in tight windows about 10-15 yards down field but when it comes to the deep ball I really think Chad Henne is the absolute worst. He under throws it every time, if he has such a strong arm then we does he keep under throwing most of his deep passes? his arm strength is over rated. He needs to be makin those throws. Countless times last season he under threw Brandon Marshall. He even under threw Hartline in the titans game when they did the flee flicker. I think I almost prefer Pennington throwing the deep ball which is sad.
