Looks like Henne is our starter, a question..

It's about winning not stats, if henne's #s are medicore but he's making plays to win games that would be ok for you guys, if he's putting up #s and making mistakes to cost you games what good does that do?

Right because it's always the quarterback's fault when the team loses, and the qb deserves all the credit for wins. I forgot that personal performance doesn't matter. I guess if Henne goes out there and throws for 4000 yds with 30 tds nd 10 picks but the D gives up 40 ppg nd the team goes 5-11 it will be all Chad Henne's fault.

You know what I'm getting at anyway, the jets run of luck with backing into the playoffs nd having fumbles fall into their arms is going to end this year, and Sanchez's flaws will be pretty damn well pronounced.

More TD's than Int's, but I will expect the offense to score TD's. if we get into the FG pattern again I will be pissed whether it be Henne or Sparano's fault.

How would you define success for Henne in the first half of the season. By td's? By a lack of turnovers? Although not mindblowing figures, I'd say a 2-1 td/int ratio would be an upgrade. If he can put up 10-12 td's and no more than 5-6 ints in the first 8, I think our defense keeps us in games. We need the defense to shut out opponents in the 4th qtr.
What I'd prefer is Henne to go 15 td's and 4-5 ints over the first half of the season. Oh, and please Henne, no late 4th qtr ints costing us games, PLEASE!
It's one of the hardest schedules in the league. So let's pretend a 5-3 record by mid-season.

I'm not so sure Chad Henne with be the Dolphins Starring QB To me Matt Moore is Better I know his comp ratio is great but the guy
show promise he had not played a full two season I know he played bad in Carolina last year but they had almost no talent last year
they were worst then the dolphins in 07 he should also know the offense some what because their offense was ran by Jeff Davidson
a Charlies Weis student So don't be surprise if he beat Our Chad Henne

Devlin will be our starter..............

It's not about individual stats, if he is throwing for 300 yds a game you are in trouble b/c it means you were down big and had to throw. All that matters is if he makes plays to help his team win games.

yes, it's all luck. Our luck will run out soon and maybe you guys will inherit that luck:rolleyes2:

I could care less how many td's he throws, leading td drives is more important. I'm okay if he has 0 td passes and 8 interceptions if we have 25-30 drives ending in td runs. This obsession with td passes is a fantasy football driven crusade. That being said, Henne has to do a better job leading drives and not causing them to stall with poor choices. Get me 3 td drives per game and 2 field goals and I'm happy.

1st Henne has to command the huddle get the team behind him.
2nd Henne cannot afford many interceptions because see above.
3rd Henne needs to move the team down the field which will instill confidence
4th Henne has to get the ball in the end zone despite Sporano or anybody else.

Pretty much in that order except #1 wont happen for long unless he accomplishes the bottom 3. I am betting against this happening for 2 reasons. I don't see any reason that ecourages me for instance a really good offensive coordinator on the team to help Henne accomplish this and the very very sour note we finished on in that last game against the Pats.

If the Fins were as lucky as the Jets last year we easily beat the Steelers, Browns and sweep the Bills (games that swung on basically unlucky bounces) making us 10-6. If a qb puts up big numbers its not ALWAYS because he had to throw to overcome a big deficit. A lot of times (Manning, Brees) the team has no running game or D and relies on a stellar qb to carry the team.
To give a historical example - Elway was considered a choke artist until Denver got TD and a sick defense... Dan Marino was never afforded those luxuries. I'm sure you follow me here. In pro sports you can only do the best with what you have around you. For example Sanchez probably has more help than anyone in the NFL and his play is still mediocre so there's that... It's not ALL about the #'s but in many cases its mostly about the numbers. You're over simplifying a very complex issue.

The only two things I want from a qb: Lead me successful drives and be able to do so in clutch situations.

I hate to break this to you but every team loses some close games, you easily could have lost to us up here if Holmes holds onto that TD. You are just making poor excuses.

Elway was never considered a choke artist, he wa a man who elevated mediocre talent to 3 SBs and lost to some of the greatest teams in the SB era. His reputation certainly did change after he won but he wasn't considered a choker.

I don't care if you have the '85 Bears D, if you don't have quality QB play you aren't winning. No team is carrying a bad QB to back to back title games espeically needing 2 road wins each postseason.

success will be high 3rd down percentage moving the chains and yes, scoring more td's than FG by two to one. Basically 20+ points per game.
