Jordan Phillips 6'5" 330lb., A J Francis 6'5" 330lb., Jeff Linkenbach 6'6" 325lb., Ellis McCarthy 6'5" 325lb. On offense, Albert, Pouncey, James, Turner, Thomas,, Douglas. ALL 6'5'6, '4". Pouncey the lightest 305, all the rest 315 to 325. Even one of the UDFA, Dionte Savage Is a mammoth 345lbs road grader. It was very unpleasant to watch Miami getting pushed around last year on both sides of the ball. Needless to say Kevin Coyle's style of getting lighter and faster guys on the DLine failed totally. Ditto for the smaller faster OLine. I personally think the biggest adjustment this team made this year was getting bigger on all phases. Bigger recievers, TEs OL,DL now that's better.

Is Savage that bigfoot we had in rookie minicamp? He made everyone else look like kids lol

I agree.... Having the lighter, faster O line ( specially) does not work well when you have to face the great D-lines from the AFC east.A having an undersized D- line was a disaster last year!

This is the best I've felt about out Front Office in a long time. I think they have a good plan and they're rolling it out the right way. Our first pick was a no brainer, Parker was there and we were lucky but in the second round that's when we made a very different pick for a Miami Dolphin team. To go DT when we just signed Suh was really inspired imo. He was the top guy on our board and we pulled the trigger. We stuck with the PBA and grabbed Phillips. This really didn't feel like a typical Dolphin pick, it was something the Ravens or Patriots do. I think this kid is going to be massive for us. A bit of a project for awhile but playing next to Wake and Suh will elevate this kid quickly. I love the size, youth and hunger of our roster. I think we got our starting RG in the draft and Ajayi is a guy I'm very excited to see play for the Fins. He's the perfect guy to rotate with Lamar. I think we have our Middle Linebacker on the team right now but we just don't know which player will emerge and be that guy. Early prediction: Hull, from Penn State, great free agent pick up. Lots of good stuff!!!

AJ Francis is borderline on making the 53...Ellis McCarthy probably won't make the 53, he's one of the most unathletic and slow D-lineman I looked at for the draft. Jeff Linkenbach is also iffy. Bigger doesn't mean diddly squat if it can't move.

question on your McCarthy thoughts... is he athletic??? does he have it in him, but just is out of shape, and maybe work ethic??? thoughts??? because i think he has it hiding within his girth that he just needs to really go all out and get into shape.

At his current weight he won't make an NFL roster. There's no explosiveness, his agility is terrible and once he gets moving in one direction his inertia won't let him change direction lol. Maybe it was a function of the UCLA defense but I thought they had him run too many stunts up front...he just wasn't quick enough to carry it out properly. Maybe if he was down in the 315-320 range he could be more effective but at 338 which was his playing weight at UCLA he's not making the roster...there is a reason he went undrafted.

Actually Douglas is the lightest at 304. With as you have already stated that Pouncey is 305, Albert is 310, Turner is 313 and James is 315.

It may mean they want to get away from a pure zone blocking system and integrate some mano y mano style blocking.

they will need to zone block..... and man on man block for short yardage and goal line
both with equal effectiveness

Let's say we go 22 personnel in the red zone....Lynch and Sims lined up at TE for some heavy inline blocking on the edges...Jay Ajayi lined up in the backfield for some power running and Jordan Cameron lined up as the H-back...DeVante Parker you're lone WR. You've got 6'5" Lynch, 6'4" Sims, 6'5" Cameron, 6'3" Parker and Ajayi who could run the rock or stay in and protect. You're the DC of the opposing team...how do you attack? If you blitz and it gets picked up I don't see too many defenders capable of covering Cameron or Parker in a one-on-one jump ball situation...if you sit back and we run, Ajayi probably has only one man to beat to get into the end zone since everyone should get a hat on a hat.

I've been thinking about this today...a "monster" package with your biggest bodies that still offer incredible versatility IMO. Would make blocking in the red zone or short yardage a little easier I think.

Maybe Fox as a 6th olineman, instead of arthur lynch. I can absolutely see this package inside the five.

AJ Francis is quite a player...He might surprise...Bright too - finished his Masters degree in the offseason up here in Maryland.

I like the kid!

He spent his rookie season on our practice squad, got snatched up by New England and spent a season on their practice squad and now he's back again. Let's not turn a guy who has spent two years on practice squads, a year on IR into an all-pro DT. If he makes the 53 then I'll be surprised.
