I was just watching yesterday's (Wednesday's) stadium practice and saw them run what looked like a slot WR screen to Vick on one of the plays (I guess they can't run it wide without it becoming obvious to a Defense, since Chambers and Booker are out wide, which relegates Vick to an inside spot).

I just can't imagine how a defense would handle that, because if they commit to converging on Vick, he can pass the ball downfield to Booker/Chambers/or on the backsiude to Ronnie B. Conversely, this is not the kind of kid you want to leave open in space, with his moves. Tough decision for a defense.

The whole Mularkey/Randle El type strategy was already surmised and well-discussed here on the boards, but it's very interesting to see them beginning to put it into practice.

Good to hear. I'm not sure if there's a spot on the roster for him though with the amount of depth we have at WR.

Its good to hear we are generating some new plays and methods with the arrival of our new coaches. I agree that the depth WR may prove to be Marcus' demise. But the guy is at least good practice squad material.

i hope he makes the team ..... dat wood b awesome him throwing td's to cc or imagine cpep runing down field lol and vick throwing him da rock for a td ........ haha ..... WOO GO VICK !

Sounds intriguing. It will be interesting to see if they run any plays like that against Jacksonville.

I wonder if they're going to ban the sale of his jersey with 'New Mexico' written on it like they did with his brother's jersey for 'Ron Mexico'.

Somehow I doubt Jacksonville's coach is lurking on FinHeaven looking for our offensive strategy! I love the idea of this play, how can it be defensed? It gives the offense so many really good options depending on how the defense plays it.

i doubt they will do that, since its now all over FinHeaven :shakeno:

Well, I actually thought about not posting because it 'tips our hand'... but when they're videotaping the play and posting it on miamidolphins.com, you figure it's not too big a secret. -shrugs-

At worst, he'd be a great decoy at slot. Sometimes a defense will get so preoccupied with the gadget play they're sure is coming up because a player like Vick has checked-in, that they get killed on a completely different play.
What he really offers is the chance to keep a defense on its heels, guessing and reacting instead of being aggressive. That can take a defense out of the rhtym and change the flow of a whole possession or even a game. Obviously if we use Vick predictably (ALWAYS run a gadget to him every time he's in), then we lose that advantage. Mike M. is smarter than that.

Thats why i think Welker or Campbell is going to get cut.

HAHA, that's an interesting theory. However, I don't think NFL organizations put a whole lot of time into analyzing what fans speculate as play calls.:sidelol:
