Looks like were gonna get offensive

With all the signings in FA being on the defensive side of the ball, it looks like we are going to be firing away for some offensive talent in the upcoming draft.
Porter, worrell, and traylor all defensive signings, and now the signing of feely, still leaves us needing some oline help and a speed threat.
maybe a qb in the later rounds as well.

this was one of my ideas when the season ended, pick up a stud Defensive guy...Porter and resign or add another guy to fill a few more areas of need or just to add depth and go offensive as all get out in the draft.

I have to say I have been pretty impressed so far this offseason, cam has really taken the bull by the horns and is showing us it's his way now.
 
I agree that the Phins should go offense in the draft, and although everyone is hoping that Quinn falls to us theres no way that happens, we'll have to trade up to get him, which became a possibility when we picked up some additional picks but I think we'll most likely just try to stock pile a lot of young talent on the offensive side, I think we'll go with levi brown in the first and then hope some WR's fall to us in the second, maybe sidney rice. I wouldnt be suprised if we go interior line in the second either especially if kahil is still on the board, maybe grubbs. RB is also a concern of mine if Ricky doesnt get reinstated, especially since this years crop of RB's is a little bit down
 
I have also been keeping a close eye on blaylock and ramirez. I don't know if they can be had in the second or not, but if we take landry in the first, which we just may... I think they could be good under houck.
 
Why do you guys want Brown at 9? I can see us taking him if we move down into the 20's but not at 9...you don't take the 20th best player in the draft at 9....at 9 you take a guy worth taking there......anyway,I think we're gonna get a guard and a center on day one....we could take a LT but don't be surprised if we don't...they're high on Alibi and Carey's on the other side....we need a guard and maybe a center too...also we'll take a WR unless we sign Stallworth, we'll probably take a TE at some point and a QB...just my 2 cents.

I doubt they go all out offense in the draft.

The defense still has some age, which will need to be addressed. And I doubt they will reach for an offensive player if their draft board doesn't warrant it.

I agree with everything you said. I think 2 out of the 3 first picks we have are going to be Oline in the first with brown Oline in the second with kalil or grubbs and either a WR or a second tier QB like stanton with the other second rounder. I could also see us going oline in the later round with those 6th round picks and maybe a NT or CB with the 3 and 4 rounders

I hope Mueller and Cam believe they need a fresh start at QB with a top QB to groom ala Brady Quinn and will be willing to trade up for him.
 
i doubt mueller reaches for an offensive player at 9...there really is not one that would make sense that early that will be available

Who's to say we don't have Brown rated in the top 15 players? No one knows that for sure, we have our own scouts, not Kiper, Wright, Mayock, et all. Not to mention Tackles are one of the premier positions, along with QB and DE, so that makes them more valuable than other players in the overall scheme of things. Add to the fact that the talent at T after Thomas and Brown(as far as immediate starting ability is concerned) takes a considerable drop, that makes Brown look even more valuable.
 
look i think its time to put alibi out there. if they are high on him put him out there. no way do we draft brown. heres my wish list.


1 landry (i dont care if we got porter. you dont pass on ed reed.)
2 kalil ( lets build this line. give alibi his shot this year. build it starting from the inside.)
3 grubbs ( or the best meanest earth shaker.)
4 wr
5 lb
6 guard
7 bpa

well there it is. thoughts?

Grubbs will not be around at our 2nd pick in round two or round 3.
