Y not? Keep the 8 pick, trade the 2nd rounder and a third rounder too somebody for a late 1st rounder. Then, surrender the late 1st rounder for the right to sign Mike Wallace.

This has been addressed time and time again.

The final date to do a deal with an RFA is April 20th, the draft is April 26th. The Fins would have to do the trade before the 20th. Who on earth is going to do a trade like that before the draft w/o knowing who would be on the board. The Redskins did it because they know either Luck or RGIII will be there . . . a team with a late first rounder won't know.

Also, even if by some miracle we were able to make that trade, you still gotta offer him 11 or 12 million a year . . . are we doing that for a WR w/o a definitive answer a QB on the team?

And personally, it has helped Wallace tremendously to have Big Ben throwing him the rock . . . he can easily outrun DB's and knows his QB can get him the ball. Are we sure Flynn or Moore can build that same rapport?

I'm completely against a move for Mike Wallace.

I think people are not understanding the RFA process and just thinking this takes a first round pick and we have him..... We would have to offer a contract (how much money do we actually have?), and the Steelers have the right to match it. If they can't match it, the compensation is a first round pick.

I like Wallace a lot, just not sure we can even afford him in the first place.

Trust me, we offer up the #8 pick and 10 million + a year . . . the Steelers will RUN with that. You see how they are converting WR's . . . Wallace was a third rounder, Brown was a 6th rounder, etc.

All of this trade down nonsense is where I get lost, if you have to have an offer sheet in front of Wallace by the 20th, how do you expect to get a lower first rounder if the draft is a week later? Who is gonna trade up to get your pick w/o knowing what is on the board?

I dunno, people see a name and go crazy.

I heard the Steelers don't have the cap space to re-sign Wallace. If they don't have it, they can't match it, right?

They signed him to a first round tender, meaning if nobody gives Mike Wallace an offer sheet, he will be resigned to the Steelers for like 2.5 million.

Seeing that getting a late first round pick is next to impossible before a deal with Wallace needs to be done, Miami would have to offer the 8th pick in the draft and a big contract to get Wallace. I guarantee you if Miami did that, Pittsburgh won't fight them . . . they will be happy to let him go to the Dolphins.

I would much rather trade the 8th pick, the late first round pick and chicago's 3rd rd pick next year for Andrew Luck

For the umpteen-millionth time, the pick HAS TO BE the teams original pick.

So to get Wallace, we would have to give up our #8 overall pick.

Not going to happen, No way.
