The first Los Angeles Chargers game at the StubHub Center seemed like a neutral-site game.
And the Chargers players noticed.
“It was crazy, there were a lot of Chargers fans and there were also a lot of Miami fans,” Chargers running back Melvin Gordon said. “I think it was around 50-50, but it was nice to see a full house.”
The slew of orange and aqua was stunning, even well before kickoff.
Quarterback Philip Rivers did not seem surprised.
“I felt like it was an into-it crowd,” Rivers said. “The environment was exciting. There certainly were a lot of Dolphins fans. I think we’re fairly used to that. We’re fairly used to the opposing team traveling well, but I thought the energy in the stadium was good. Definitely a little easier environment than what it was last week in Denver.”
