The first Los Angeles Chargers game at the StubHub Center seemed like a neutral-site game.
And the Chargers players noticed.
“It was crazy, there were a lot of Chargers fans and there were also a lot of Miami fans,” Chargers running back Melvin Gordon said. “I think it was around 50-50, but it was nice to see a full house.”
The slew of orange and aqua was stunning, even well before kickoff.
Quarterback Philip Rivers did not seem surprised.
“I felt like it was an into-it crowd,” Rivers said. “The environment was exciting. There certainly were a lot of Dolphins fans. I think we’re fairly used to that. We’re fairly used to the opposing team traveling well, but I thought the energy in the stadium was good. Definitely a little easier environment than what it was last week in Denver.”

Kind of why I don't give the defense a pass for "being on the road." The crowd seemed to react as much or more for the Dolphins than they did the Chargers. The only time I heard a lot of cheers for the Chargers was when Gates made that catch.

That crowd was pathetic. It was like a 30K capacity stadium, still tons of empty seats and half the crowd were Dolphins' fans? I doubt the Chargers make it to 2027 in LA. I think they'll be back in San Diego eventually.

****ty location for a game doesn't help them.

Being the second new team in a year in a market that generally doesn't care about the NFL despite its size doesn't help either. There is one team that could have succeeded in the LA market and the NFL moved two teams there..neither one of them were the raiders.

yeah the section i was in had like 90 percent Dolphin fans section 131....Pouncy's family was sitting right in front of me like 4 rows down.

Really cool to see so many Dolphin fans at the game a lot of Marino & Jarvis Landry jerseys @ stubhub center today.

I think Dolphin fans get a bad rap. Yet when it comes to visiting games, Miami fans are well represented. That's pretty much always been the case.

Civilization as a whole is more traveled than ever before. For the most part home games now aren't nearly as advantageous as decades past. However, loved seeing all the Fins fans representing there. It was noticeable on TV.

Going to Qualcomm the last 2 years, it was about 45% Dolphins fans if not more!

Problem is that other NFL teams are usually well represented at home while the stadium is not always filled. We all know the reasons behind it but it's always going to be something people will pick at.

I cannot recall their names off the top of my head, but the local SoCal Dolfans said they were going to take over the LA Galaxy stadium, and it sounds like they did!
