This may have already been posted but I thought I heard a segment on ESPN stating that JP was benched in favor of Holcombe. (Maybe I was drinking at the time....). Anyway, it looks JP will start against the Fins but have a short leash.

If the Fins can get pressure on the QB, neither one makes me nervous but I thought it was interesting, nonetheless.

Kelly Holcomb: Will Not Start SundayRotoWire.com Staff - RotoWire.com
Wednesday, October 5, 2005 Update: Holcomb, who made his second relief appearance for J.P. Losman in Sunday's loss to New Orleans, going 3 of 6 for 28 yards, will not start Sunday's game against the Dolphins. Recommendation: Losman has been downright terrible, but coach Mike Mularkey is sticking with him. You can view Holcomb as more like a bullpen option for the time being, where Losman will start and Holcomb will come in for a spark if the youngster is playing poorly. How that helps anyone's fantasy team, we've yet to figure out.

we must pressure Lossman.....he will buckle.....fold....then crumble.

Lospman's stats this week vs. us will be:

7-15 124 yds. 0 td 3 ints 1 fum 2 rush 6 yds.
or worse

he was benched in the second half of the Saints game.

he was benched for 1 series (a 3 and out) late in the bills/bucs game.

JP is staring this week vs the fins.

Didn't we play against holcomb last season in the browns game? I was not that impressed with him, but he also didn't mess up.

if hes starting then all the good because hes shown nothing at this juncture to worry JT, Zach, Carter, Crowder, Seau, Traylor, Madison, Schulters....shall i go on? Hes not top 10 QB so i think the Bills will be running it against us and im confident they will fall into our hands. 3-1.

I guess the next important question we need to ask is, will Mike Williams be starting or the Wanny reject Jerman?

What is the Buffalo Buzz on Losman are the fans screaming for Holcomb?
well ill admit, after the saints game i thaught maybe Holcomb gave us a better chance to win. (though not really screaming).

then i thaught some more and came to my sences.

holcomb has done nothing that would deminstrate his ability to play better than losman. holcomb does look more "at home" in the pocket, but isnt completing that many passes, or converting on 3rd downs. JP atleast can run for a 1st down.

so JP is our QB. win or loose, hes the QB, and will be for atleast the next few years. he just needs to trust his WRs and our O-Line needs to improve.

but also, our D hasnt lived up to expectations. even with spikes injury, there is no reason why we should be giving up so many yards. stupid mistakes are killing us.

all in all, we understand losman is learning, but noone likes loosing.

but everything can change if we win this week agenst miami, then the next week vs. the jets.

I'd probably be more concerned if Holcomb was named the starter, only because it would be an indication that Mularkey was ready to go in a different direction and may provide a spark/jolt to the rest of the team...Either way, I think we can pressure both. I still think Losman looked pretty good in that first drive in San Antonio...Hopefully not a sign of things to come (at least for this Sunday)...another thing, is that if we control McGahee, we can really pressure Losman into mistakes and miscues...that's how we win the game. That and not letting McGhee have any room on ko's...I nearly died when he almost scored just before the half...

Do you think JP's struggles more associated with the O-Line, him, or both? I know you have heard the O-Line struggles here and how they can make any QB look good or bad.

there have been recent reports saying Holcomb will start. :D.
