Dolphins safety Louis Delmas’ MRI is still pending, but he has suffered “at least” an ACL injury, and possibly more damage to his knee, the Palm Beach Post has learned. The Dolphins secondary has been decimated by injuries this year but the Dolphins are hopeful that two of their injured cornerbacks will return against the Patriots. Cortland Finnegan has missed the last four games with an ankle injury and Jamar Taylor has missed the last two with a dislocated shoulder. While nothing is certain until they practice this week, the team is optimistic that both Finnegan and Taylor will play this week. If they return, then Jimmy Wilson would likely start in Delmas’ place and Taylor could play the slot. Finnegan could also play nickel cornerback with Taylor outside.
Either way the Dolphins need all they help they can get with Tom Brady on the horizon and Miami needing a win to keep its slim playoff hopes alive.

Great, we get our CBs back one week too late.

Was Finnegan that bad off that he couldn't have at least tried yesterday? Ronnie Lott had his damn finger cut off to stay in an important game and while I realize it's not exactly the same situation, that game was pretty much our playoff hopes going out the window barring a miracle in New England.

Maybe it wouldn't have made a difference but he couldn't have been worse than Stanford.

I would assume if those two can play, Wilson goes to safety?

He had said he was going to test it out before the game not sure if he tried or what or they just deactivated him. Honestly I really thought him playing coming in was a big key but the way the OL got handled and eventually the DL and LB’s- not sure it would have changed things that much.

Yes that would probably be the plan- should be interesting watching Wilson trying to bring Gronk down.

I would expect they put Dion Jordan on Gronk but who knows with this staff. I also don't think the Patriots will throw all that much...I expect a heavy dose of Blount and the other running backs. Why allow Tom Brady to possibly get sacked when you can keep him clean and run all over the Dolphins? It will be like a bye week for Brady.
