Loving all the negative Dolphin energy.......

Because...often good things happen when you least expect it.

Every NFL season is a new chapter....a new opportunity...and largely unknown at this point.

Why anyone would paint Adam Gase and his new staff with same brush as the ghosts of recent Dolphin history is beyond me?

Nothing lasts forever...even the New Orleans Ain'ts and the Tampa Bay Succaneers broke their losing historys during our present run of mediocrity and won it all...and it will happen here eventually more than likely.

Anyone who states with certainty that the Dolphins have no chance this year...or will definitely be sub .500 is just shortsided and lacking a true understanding of NFL history and how quickly things can change.

Now....if you want to discuss odds or probabilities...thats a different discussion.

The Dolphins have enough pieces in place that, if certain remaining factors fall into place...injuries, great drafting, coaching, a young ascending, talented QB who has the lightbulb go on, and has the game slow down for him in a good way...that anything is possible.
 
We're on our fifth coach in the past 11 seasons. I have the utmost confidence in Gase, but the fans and media have the right to be skeptical after the continuous failures at head coach.
 
Adam Gase will have to be a miracle worker to get the Dolphins to the playoffs with Tannenbum calling the shots.

Plus if Gase turns out to be the real deal, that means we're going to have to put up with the bum sticking around as well. Then when Ross realizes we're close but not quite there yet, he'll probably fire Gase and give Tannenbum a 5 year extension.

Well I, for one, must be "smoking" what he is...I believe this season will surprise many of you with negative perceptions....this team will turn around this season...It's time

There is skepicism...and then there is total negativity and doomsaying.

I understand the former....not latter.

Thanks man. I have a strong feeling that this team will exceed expectations this year. Coaching is going to have the greatest influence on the team's success.

The negativity has been painful to witness around here..

It's alright though, I believe Grier and TB are going to put together a killer draft class. All I know is that a change of fate is upon us...

The new stadium is going to be exciting too!

I don't smoke....and if you reread my post....I never predicted sure success this year.

I only suggested that the doomsayers are being shortsided if they proclaim this year as having no chance for success.

I've lived long enough....and am in my 5th decade of watching this game...and I know anything can happen year to year.
 
It's funny cause I was having this conversation with one of my friends yesterday . He kept saying how " we're going to be mediocre at best , what's different on this roster that makes you think otherwise ?"

And I hate that . First of all we have a new coach and defensive coordinator, also wake was injured all last season and maybe Mario Williams , Kiko , and Max are put in situations to succeed and that defensive line has better chemistry and more of an impact . Each season is a fresh season . Some people down here are acting like we're the Browns who got rid of almost every good player they had .
 
This isn't a fairytale unfortunately. There's been negative energy about the team for years and they've never delivered for us. The bad feelings here are warranted and aren't going to change what the team does because we have no power to change the team into a winner.

You are right that it's not a fairytale.....the negative energy is warranted regarding the mistakes and lackluster decisions made in the past....BUT...this team is going to change each year to a certain extent...the PLAYERS make the difference on the field....the coaching and leadership make the difference before they line up though..

This team needs a direction...an identity...something they can believe in

We have a start on that now and we will surprise many THIS season...the mistakes of the past are, well, PAST ...the off season moves made were made for a specific reason...the impact of the draft will add 2 starters and depth...the coaching will add a scheme and an identity...we will be more competitive this season than any of us have seen in MANY years

Team also needs talent. After the draft we'll have a better idea. But I don't think Miami can do enough in the draft to change the perception that they'll suck this year. We'll find out soon.

With Gase here we don't have to worry. Have faith once more.
