Fellow Dolphins Fans,
One of the most disappointing changes in the NFL over the past 20+ years, heck in all sports, is the lack of Loyalty. Loyalty of a player to his team, loyalty to a team to their coach, loyalty to a team from their fan base. As Dolphins fans we have seen players and coaches come and go, some because of the all-mighty dollar, some because they were "not the right fit for the team", and some just because they didn't have what it took to make it at their position in the NFL. Through all of this many of us have remained Loyal Fans and remain so today.
We have suffered, oh we have suffered! Though Wannstedt, 1-15, and year after year without being in the playoffs, but we remain Loyal to our team. Now, we come to another leap of faith with the hiring of a new GM who, let's call it what it is, was not our first choice. He is however, our choice. Now the future of our team is is in the hands of Ross, Hickey, Aponte, and Philbin. All of them have worked hard to get here and, I for one, will give them my Loyalty because I am Loyal to my team The Miami Dolphins.
The real question is can this new "brain trust" bring to us the pieces we need, though free agency and the draft, to once again be a playoff team and hopefully some day a Super Bowl champion? We have many pieces in place already, with a little work and a lot a dedication, I believe they can. I am just being positive in sea of negativity that I have read over the past few hours about your team, our team, the team that I have been Loyal to for 31 years.
