85% of all our effective running plays last year were to the right. Carey was moved around during his first few years and has finally settled @ right tackle. Shelton was a below average left tackle and he seems to have settled in at right guard. Hadnot does not impress me. He started out at right guard but moved to center because McKinney was a bust and we had no one else. We were a poor team running up the gut. Jeno James was playing on one leg last year so he's gone. Kendall Jacox took over for him and was mediocre so he's gone. Shelton, as mentioned before, was unimpressive at left tackle and moved to right guard, Macintosh was inserted back in at Left tackle as an act of desperation and now he's gone. We're incredibly optimistic about Toledo even though he hasn't proven he can survive a training camp without getting hurt and was injury prone in college. Everyone loves Joe's potential but you can't says he's an automatic because some guys are just injury prone. Alabi is real "pie-in-the-sky". He's shown nothing, but once again, has athletic potential. So realisticially, we need to draft an OT, OG, & C. to address these deficiencies.
Of course it's a long way to go for training camp, but at present, the current Dolphin roster for minicamp shows us with 8 offensive lineman. (one center, 2 guards, and 5 tackles; they count Shelton as a tackle): 8 guys for 5 spots.
On the other hand we have 11 defensive lineman for 4 spots.
Which is why I continue to criticize the Draft maniacs that want us to draft defesive lineman.
If you give Cam / Mueller the extreme benefit of the doubt with the purging of the roster and very little replacement, you would like to think they've gone over the roster with a "fine tooth comb" approach and weeded out every old, overpriced, overrated player we've had. Evidently they think very highly of the 11 DLineman we still have.
