LT Shelton for Brees?

This may have been brought up already. Sorry if it was.

We're not signing any other free agents right now. Do you think that Nick Saban put in extra effort to get LT Shelton quickly to help convince Drew Brees that he would be protected. That had to have been a concern for Drew Brees coming to Miami.

Anyone know anything about Shelton? I was talking to an AZ Cards fan yesterday and he said the guy stinks and just takes up space, and has bad technique...I'm hoping he's wrong, anyone know?

shelton was one of the best avail;able and we needed one....i like the move bc we can now focus elsewhere in the draft.....and we have our LT...Shelton aint bad and i have full confidence in Houck to get the best out of him

lol maybe thats because ur playing beside a bunch of other "stinky" linemen. Yes the Browns have Bentley and Shaffer now...but they still have an LG, RG, RT who arent the best...i mean David Carr has one good O-lineman, yet he gets sacked like its his job. Just cuz the Browns have 2 good o-lineman now, it doesnt mean they will do great. Its about coaching, the plays...Jonathan Ogden is awesome, but the Ravens O-line surely isnt the best...Chris Samuels is awesome, Redskins O-line surely isnt the best...Kevin Mawae is awesome, but the Jets dont have the best O-line. LJ Shelton should do well here with the help of Houck

exactly houck is the key, shelton was a former first round pick i believe, and he is massive. i hope he has a mean streak, i dont really know much about him. but i do know if he was garbage we wouldnt have signed him
