Luck? A look at #1 overall picks in the last 15 years or so

LOL if Sanzhez is better than Palmer, i may aswell be a QB thats a LAUGHABLE comment

Sanchez is not better than Carson palmer pre-injury in the '05 WC game but he's been better the last 2 years including badly outplaying him in the '09 WC game at Cincy in mark's first ever postseason start.

Sanchez has never had a season where his QB rating is equal to Palmers

There are somewhere between 20-24 teams in the league who wouldn't trade their QBs even-up for Taco.. and that probably included Oakland the way Campbell was performing before the injury. (Sadly we're one of the ones that likely would have). He might draw a desperation 2nd at best from a team in the thick of the race. Again, I was pleased to read that fewer TGG members than I suspected drink the puke green colored Koolaid when objectively assessing Lance Bass's squeeze.

Sanchez is so mediocre its hilarious. No jet fan should be very confident with their qb situation

New Yorkers are notorious for vastly and I mean vastly overrating their players. Want any proof, frequent a Knicks forum. For years they would vastly overrate and defend people like isiah Thomas, Marbury, eddie curry, Tim Thomas, balkman, Richardson, Crawford, Nate Robinson, frye among others.

They thought all these players would be instrumental in building a contender. It wouldn't be years after everyone else saw it that they might finally dislike a player and pretend they never liked them to begin with

New Yorkers are very parochial and see things very differently. Many of them were happy when isiah Thomas got an extension

That's hysterical coming from a phin fan where all I have heard the last few years is how much talent you have and how you have more talent than the Jets.

It's a good thing we are smart football fans that do not evaluate based on rating.

You;d be thrilled if you had a Sanchez but not thrilled enough to tank a season.

Actually Miami already has someone better then Sanchez, so If it fell on Miami to get a Sanchez Clone in the Draft, they would go with anyone else but QB. The only reason to take a QB, is to get better not worse.

Yep and a better OL, RBs, TE, WRs, Defense, coach,... How's that working out?

Nice job refuting what i ascertain. I really hope you dont hold yourself as actually being competant in debating because that would be even more laughable. If you are congnizant that you are nothing more than merely a troll trying to get a rise out of dolphin fans at least than you would be honest with yourself.

Your noted above response is on par with saying "I know you are but what am I"

Well done

That is why Miami would not take Sanchez, they already have Henne, no reason to go backwards in skill level.

I'm kinda sick of these posts. In what draft position should we pick a QB then? #57? Add up the number of good QBs that were drafted at #57 and I guarantee you it will be lower than #1. The higher you draft a QB, the higher the probability they will be good. Nobody has disproven that in the 100s of posts on the subject. Do a plot of QB quality vs draft position... I guarantee you the regression line will point up and to the right.

And who cares if he doesn't want to play for us? Trade him to the highest bidder for 10 other players. Fact remains, having the overall pick in this years draft is much more valuable than almost all previous drafts.

To those of you saying he will not want to play for us because of the suck for luck thing. We are not the only team saying this. There are 8 teams that have 1 win or less. If you go to their site, you will see the same things that we are saying here. If Luck does not want to play for those teams he will have to go back 5 or more teams.
