Luck is still a Junior...

as said, Luck is a RS Junior who returned to get his degree, and last I saw, he was an academic all-american with a 4.0 GPA. He could stay, but I don't think he will. I highly doubt Matt Barkley leaves either mainly because next year will be his only shot at a National Title and USC will be stacked but ya never know. Landry Jones is good, but not Sam Bradford 2.0. Stronger arm, but not as good with decisions.

But again, if there is a year to suck, this is the year to do it. The draft is gonna be stacked

I don't believe he's an 4.0, but getting a 4 year degree from Stanford is NOT an easy thing to do in the first place. Garauntee's him a DAMN good job whenever football is over.

I believe USC won't be bowl-eligible for a couple of years, and I DO think Barkley bolts for the NFL.
Very much agree on L-Jones. Not nearly the decision maker Bradford was at the same juncture. Stronger arm, and very damn accurate though. Makes ALL the throws.

ONLY way Luck stays another year, is if he actually stays 2 or more and goes after his Masters degree.
For those stating he wouldnt give up NFL money for school need to realize, he already did. his Ceiling was already the highest it would be going into this last draft, yet he decided to opt for a degree at Stanford...which as I stated, is NOT like getting a degree from just any school in the Nation.

If we don't get Luck I don't want any of these other QBs. I guess I would have to watch them more to be sure, but from what I've seen Jones and Barkley do not look like franchise QBs.

Luck has done nothing to hurt himself this year. Right now he's got 8 TDs to 1 INT.

IF Barkley does enter, nothing wrong getting him either. Very smart and very laid back. Plus, he's a good kid... like almost Tim Tebow like in his Christianity.

Did you see Barkley this weekend? The kid is the real deal and would be the consensus #1 in any almost every year. Luck is just a once in a generation type player who's a better prospect than he is but I'd be just as pumped if we got Barkley.

No I didn't see his game this weekend and most of my info on him is from friends that are USC fans. Like I said I would have to watch more to be sure. I have seen Landry Jones play though and while he is talented I just don't see that next level talent from him.

One thing to keep in mind, just about ANY QB can look like an all-pro in the Pac10,12 or WTF it is now.

Barkley appears to be pretty good, but looking at his work against Arizona State is probably not a game you wanna look for showing him off (BTW: He wasnt THAT good in that game. Stat wise, he was actually outplayed by the ASU QB...except for the 2 TD's that is)

It's actually really close between the 2. Both made HUGE improvements from year 1 as a starter to year 2. Both have great size, good arm strength and both play in offenses that require good timing.

No it really isn't. Barkley is an Matt Ryan/Stafford prospect. Luck is a Peyton Manning prospect. Ryan was a great QB prospect, Manning was the best QB prospect.

If you watched the game, you would have seen that the ASU QB threw around 20 bubble screens.

If there is a QB who would be the consensus #1 overall pick and is dumb to stay in college, I don't really want him. That didn't work out so well for Matt Leinart.

uh i think your wrong, he was eligible to enter last year, meaning he had to be a junior to enter last year, he is in senior year now.

Wrong. There are rules about being redshirted...you can come out after your sophomore year if you meet the requirements. He may be a "senior" scholastically, but is only a junior as far as football. He is elligible to play next year, even if he graduates. (I think there are rules that he would have to take a certain class load...)

yeah Leinart was pretty dumb. He said it was to win another title, but in all actuality it was because he loved living in Hollywood and partying. Once he got to Arizona and Wisenhunt didn't put up with his crap he struggled. Supposedly he has changed a lot going to Houston and wants to be the backup for a year or 2 before going somewhere to try and start again.

Luck and Bradford stayed to get their degrees and try and win a title; they were RS sophomores. Leinart came back as a RS junior that won 2 (well... 1) national championship and a Heisman. He had nothing left to prove.

I was not impressed with Barkley against ASU...
