Lydon Murtha placed on IR

Coach Sparano said in his press conference that Lydon Murtha got his ankle rolled on he was placed on IR. He was not cut as early speculated.

What I love about the staff is that they continue to manage the roster even late in the season. We are going to be fine for years to come.. We dont break the bank for premium players we draft pretty good and we get the most out of the players we have.

This is part of a strategy. being that it is toward the end of the year, you see alot of players on the active roster placed on IR. Some definately would not be able to play again the rest of the year, but on the other hand, some could. He is not a major part of the team so what this allows us to do is pull someone off our practice squad we want to protect going into next year, or possibly someone from another teams practice squad.

Living in Nebraska, I got to watch a lot of his games(he's a graduate of University of Nebraska.) He was a pretty good O-lineman in college (let me reiterate: IN COLLEGE.) Hopefully he'll make a Good backup at least
