- Scouts from some teams began filing out of the workout before it even finished, because so many were turned off by what they saw.
- “He’s physically gifted, but he’s a long ways away,†said the chief personnel man for one team. “We wouldn’t touch him. Typical of most players in the supplemental draft, he’s not close to being ready. There’s too much holding him back. He’s never been pushed. He quit on just about every drill. He lacks mental toughness. If a team is going to take a chance on him, they better have the right coach.â€Â
- Another scout in attendance said Wright was not “quick or explosive†in drills and his lack of upper-body strength with just 16 repetitions in the 225-bench-press test was one of many signs of his immaturity.
- “He is extremely immature. He won’t be ready for two years. He doesn’t have a work ethic. He wouldn’t make our 53.â€Â
- As a 21-year-old, Wright has some room for improvement, but scouts say he was terribly out of shape, ran through bag drills straight up-and-down  the same way he plays and did not touch the line on his three-cone drill until the third attempt because he cannot bend and drop his hips.
- The Dolphins, Eagles and Packers are believed to have done the most exhaustive research on Wright. The most logical team to select him is one with extra second-day picks in next year’s draft that they would feel comfortable sacrificing.
- The consensus from teams with whom PFW consulted that had done filmwork on Wright prior to his worout was that he was a fifth-round selection. His workout, deemed “sub-par†by many in attendance, did not help him.
