I detect a clone. Rome listener?Running plays in your front yard with your girlfriend is like hitting a Soft Ball off of a Tee to get ready for a Jacob deGrom fastball. Stevie Wonder can see that his approach probably won’t work. Just Sayin
Something tells me Mac Jones GF isn't the athlete X is although both will be handling his balls at some point this week.
I'm going to defend Mac on this one. It isn't the actual walk-through it's the mental aspect. Knowing on the 'snap' what to do. I don't see this much different from 2 WRs running routes with one as the QB.
The flip side is, walk-throughs do little to prepare for live action. If it's to memorize plays, the more reps the better, whoever is doing it. To me, I expect him to have far more trouble reading Ds and getting used to NFL speed
My thoughts and main reasoning for posting this thread... walking through plays with one person and working on memorizing where players are supposed to be... that's all great, but that's only productive if the opposing defense is 11 chairs in place across the LOS. Mac is in for a reality check Sunday. How do you memorize a play with just one person? Route combinations and your intended WR will vary based on defensive alignment and coverage in most cases.
I can see having help on paper, but physically going through plays with one person is pretty worthless IMO.

great breakdown. I agree.I can sit in my living room, have someone give me a play, and I tell them what happens. That's irrefutable. But, you said what I did . . . it's one thing to memorize a play (critical in football), and, in the case of a QB, actually do a 3-step drop, or roll-out, but it's another when we factor in live bullets, reading the D, deciding if a WR is open, and changing plays. I don't deny that. However, just memorizing plays is an important part. For example, 'Green Right Slot Z Over Spider 2Y Banana.' If the QB doesn't know what that play is, reading Ds doesn't matter. If actually visualizing the play helps Mac, that's his way of learning.
Plus, I, and most here, expect BB to keep the O simple and the reads quick. It's the job of Miami's D to force Mac into situations where he's not comfortable and make reads difficult
