He seemed more interested in trash talking than making tackles and almost single handadly cost us the game. Sam states that didn't they tell them I am the number one trash talker?...what a joke...Those 2 penalties were a disgrace..we had great field position aftyer the sack and fumble and he cost us 15 yards. I really hope that Saban takes care of this. We are trying to win the game...not to be more concerned about winning the"trash" talking game. I just watched the game again on TIVO and between Madison and Howard...they should run to the bank to cash thier checks before the Dolphin put a stop on payment. Madison is so much better than the crap he pulled today.

I agree with you
He is one of the leaders on this D and for him to do stupid **** like that could of hurt us BIG Time.

yea he made some boneheaded mistakes, but trash talking is Madison's game, it has been his whole career. I don't think it too big a deal, he had a bad game, everyone does.

A bad game to me is getting beat or missing a tackle...not getting 2 idiotic penalties that were cheap..uncalled for and petty. He made the duel he had with Smith become more personal and more important than winning the game.

Guys, he's done this his entire career. I don't understand why he doesn't get it. Both of his personal fouls were hits on Smith, so maybe he was trying to hurt him, I don't know. He needs to play smarter because other than those two penalties he played a great game.

I like Sam Madison...but he played a great game?...Cmon...I went play by play through this game...and he did have some good coverage at times...but he overran a run towards him and let the guy get outside...and missed a couple of other runs. A great day?...put those 2 penalties in ther and it was FAR from a "great" day.

I couldn't agree more. Between Madison and moron couldn't cover a dead amoeba Howard, my blood pressure probably went up 20 points today before Schulters' pick.

He didn't over run a run towards him today. Heck, there was only one running play towards him all game. I went play by play too. These were the only plays towards him:

1st Q
8:38 - we blitzed, Madison jammed his man on the line, that option taken away
8:06 - Delhomme with a horribly underthrown ball, Madison all over Smith

2nd Q
13:15 - Delhomme sits in the pocket for an eternity looking at Madison's side, nothing there & Carter gets the sack
9:51 - pass incompletion, holding penalty on Madison
8:55 - run outside to Madison's side, Madison contains on 2 yard gain, offensive holding negates play

3rd Q
12:09 - 6 yard completion to Smith on a quick out, Smith broke Madison's wrap up tackle for 8 more yards
6:32 - 3rd & long, Madison jams Smith at the line forcing him out of bounds so he can't get into his route
0:29 - stupid personal foul, late hit on Smith after fumble recovery

4th Q
13:34 - 8 yard completion to Steve Smith on a short hitch, another stupid personal foul
7:19 - Smith catch a short 13 yard post on Madison's soft coverage, Tillman/Howard dives in a poor tackling attempt whiping out Sam or anyone else from making the tackle, 55yd TD

I said he "played" great. That extracurricular stupid stuff was after the play.

I confused a run with a short pass that was over the middle that Sam ran towards midfield then was juked inside and the player got outside of him and ran it another 10 yards. I will give the specific details but man I am drained..like I said...I like Sam...but he "antics" will cost us down the line.

Its all good when you win, but Madison's nonsense would be a huge deal if we had lost this game, and it was a very, very close game to say the least. Smith deserved to get whacked after that posing crap, that was just dumb.

Yeah, Madison was in man to man coverage & it seemed as if he recognized the play unfolding & left his responsibility to try to make a play. He over-persued & got a little tangled with Howard & it went for a sizable gain.

It was sloppy tackling on the play on all parts but people forget how fast Smith is. No excuses, there was a pee wee effort but when Smith gets a lane he's out!

The simple fact is I like almost every dolfan wanted to see Saban pull Madison after the "stupid" personal foul...however he (Saban) is limited at this point with what he can do certainly benching Madison in favor of Howard is not an option.

Now I feel that ceratin vets need to realize that if their poor & dumb play continues they will lose their jobs....even if it means an inferior talent replacing them.
