I liked McIntosh, and he did put up pretty good numbers for an offensive lineman this year. He made huge improvements. I don't quite know if he was worth his cap number, but I think he provided a little stability that we needed. I can understand how he would get cut, however.

Sam Madison, for what he counted against the cap, should've stayed. I hope he gets re-signed, because we have a half-rookie and a rookie right now as our starting corners. They're both pretty talented from what I've seen, but I'd like to see a veteran come in. Madison wanted to stay, and he made this public. I have a feeling he'll be resigned.

Jones was next to worthless and Howard was worthless.

I agree with the dolphins on releasing Howard (yes!!!!!!!) and McIntosh. Damion was bad, the defenders would blow right by him. And Reggie, well....I think everybody knows about Reggie. I personally also hope the Dolphins will resign Madison for lest money, He is a quality QB and deserves to stay where he wants.

i want sam backkkkkkkk
he has been with us for 9 years ppl 9 years he wants to stay here
i really do hope we resign him
badlyyyyyy :dolphins:

Problem with Sam is he doesn't really fit the scheme of the defense now.

He cut his teeth in press coverage and seemed to struggle at times last year.

Sam struggled at releasing receivers and picking up others in zone D.

Sad to see him go and with the ugliness going on with the cap I'm not sure what to expect at this point.

and so is Sam Madison

Exactly - as sad as it is Sam really doesn't fit our scheme. He will be missed though.

I don't believe Sam cannot adapt.

For what it's worth, the "scheme" Sam played under was significantly better than the scheme he played in 2005.

People, get over it. It's a business.

Madison is NOT Saban's type of corner. He is poor against the run and is better in man than zone. He's also getting near the end of his career, and probably his effectiveness.

The only way I see Madison coming back is if the hour gets late, Madison is still available and Saban's desperate. Other than that, time to move on.

Tell that to Nick Saban. I'm sure he'd disagree.

Maybe because Sam didn't fit the scheme?!

He might, but those aren't the facts. Saban's defense allowed more total yards this season than any since 1997 (Sam's rookie year). His pass defense was ranked 20th, which was only better than 2003 (21st). The total yardage of the defense was the worst since 1997 as well. In terms of points allowed, only 1999 was a worse year. (2004 was in terms of total points, but 63 points came from the offense and 7 from a return).

So he might disagree, but I don't care.

I for one will miss Madison....I know alot of people here dont like him, but he was a Dolphin Great...He played with alot of HEart, thats what i will miss

Sam will be back ....so long Reggie, so long McIntosh....we have to make sure we stay within the cap.

you cant deny that sam had a great career in miami and that he will be missed but we have to look back at all those missed tackles and see that times were changing....if we dont pick up FA corner dont be surprised to see sam come back because i have the feeling that not too many teams will be looking at sam (sam was a true dolphin at heart)
