Can't be done. Saints tagged him with the exclusive rights franchise tag. He can't even negotiate with another team.

Why is this so hard for everyone to understand? He has not signed this tag so they cant trade a player who is not under contract. Also as stated above he may NOT negotiate with any other team.

The ship sailed when the team doctors sentenced drew brees' injury more signifcant than Daunte. It amazes how important team doctors and strength & conditioning coaches are to the success of a team. Example like at the Yankees trade for Pineda while giving up top prospect Montero. During physical's everything "supposedly" checks out for pineda, now he is sidelined for labrum surgery. Sad
