Does anyone else feel like throwing up when they watch Brees tossing the ball like there is not tomorrow, then think about what could have been.......:(

Yea but oh well think of all the things that could have been.

many things come to mind. That is just one of them but thats the past so i just forget it and root for the dolphins who have a better record than they do right now.
Neither he nor culpepper have taken thier respective team to the Super bowl so no real big deal. (Yes brees is better)

You know I was thinking about starting a thread like this in the first quarter. But I don't like looking back. Especially at that moron Saban and what he did for South Florida.

Actually not at all, I have been living through that kind of thing for 40 years, as far back as the dolphins passing up on Harvey Martin in 73 to take Chuck Bradley. In fact you will probably find that almost every team passes on a pro bowler every year, in every draft.

The key is moving on and let the past be history and not part of your future.

How many Super Bowls have the Saints won with Brees? Let the past be the past. Yes, it was an idiotic mistake to go with Daunte, but it's done.

Same thread every time the Saints play on national TV.

Call the F'n thread cops then.

How many SB's the saints have won??????

think maybe we would have won more than 13 games over the last 2 1/2 seasons? Think maybe on 3rd and 12's we could throw more than nine yards?

I love what CP has done this year, but dammit we need someone who can bomb it. I know that he has had some somewhat big throws this year, but lets be honest, they have not been the prettiest damn throws and anyone who says that they were not praying the entire "hang time" that the ball was in the air on those throws is lying.

I was just saying that I get pissed off when I see the crap that this team has put out for the last damn near ten years.

I don't think about it, it would make me go crazy. Brees is a great talent and I'm happy the guy is succeeding instead of having a couple of crappy coaching staffs and not as many weapons possibly make him not as good as he is now.

I feel happy for him. He's a great player. Don't know how things would've worked out for him in Miami with the coaches we had in those years.
Don't regret things no more, look ahead, start thinking of what we can do with what we have, and that we're doing a great job right now; that's all that matters to me.

I've thought of that a million times, but who knows what would have happened? If we had signed Brees our path would be much different right now, maybe better, maybe worse, who knows. The ripple effect would have been huge. Saban might still be HC, we would have no Ginn & no Long. Porter would be having a career year with someone else. Sparano would still be in big D. Chances are high that our front office would not consist of Ireland & Parcells. Who knows if Brees would have even been succesful here.

I would have loved to have him here, but in the end i'm quite happy with our current situation & our future.

Get over it!!! I'm upset about it just like the next guy but that was years ago and there's no true way to tell if he could have had the same success down here. We have a good team now and we don't need to think about stupid **** like this anymore.

drew brees puts up nice stats, but he will never be a superbowl winning qb. his best season he had with the saints was 10-6 and that was bc the nfc was so bad that year that they were able to get a 2 seed. he looks great at times, but there r games where his stats look rlly good mainly bc he throws like 50 times a game.

A quick look at the stats and found something interesting

Completion %

Pennington: 66%
Brees: 67.5%

Verdict: Not much difference there. Each QB is completing 2/3 of their passes

Yards Per Attempt

Pennington: 8.0
Brees: 8.7

Verdict: Again, pretty similar

Attempts per game

Pennington: 31
Brees: 38.5

Verdict: This is where things differ and why Brees has much more yards and touchdowns.
