"When searching for key catalysts in the Miami Dolphins’ sudden offensive resurgence, you hear names like Ronnie Brown, Chad Pennington, Anthony Fasano and even relative unknowns of Greg Camarillo's ilk.

But perhaps the names team followers should be calling out are Jake Long, Vernon Carey, Samson Satele, Justin Smiley and Ikechuku Ndukwe."

Give it a quick read and let me know your thoughts.

Couple that with the confidence they are playing with (Long said in the huddle at the end of the Chargers game that when the clock ran out they would still have the ball)and we have the makings of an elite, nasty front line

good read.

satele has shown the most dramatic improvement from the first 2 games - where he played badly - to the last 2 - where he picked up where he left off last year.

The best part is, they really haven't fully gelled as a unit yet.

Nice article, Hugo.

Let's all hope that this line continues to develop into the unit we've been waiting for!

good read. THe next step for this line is to incorporate longer passing plays in the playbook. When henne hits the field, we'll see those 5 and 7 step drops and long bullets flying downfield. It'll be a challenge to sustain the pass protection for another 1-2-3 second and i'm anxious to see this.

You could say we are re-building... but the 1st stage is complete... the o-line needs only to develop together... adding Pennington and putting him behind them means this miami offense hardly resembles those of recent past.

Step 1 in the rebuilding process was rebuilding both the defense and offensive lines which is why we drafted so many lineman in the draft. I didnt expect our dline or oline to look good until at least week 9 or 10, but man they look good and they havent even reached their potential yet. So happy we got real football minds in charge.

Great article. its obvious to any longtime fan that this is our best line since at least 2002. But I daresay this line is better at passblocking than that group.

If the O-line were the only part of the team to get 'righted' this year it would be a successful step in the rebuilding process. Thankfully, many things are getting set right and that makes for an exciting future.

I think the most solid point you made was about the penalties. The overall performance has been spotty for the year....Two bad performances and two good ones kinda balance out, IMO. The thing that cannot be ignored though is the ammount of penalties. The line isn't makeing the big mistake that cripples the offense. That's an extremely positive sign. I'm reserveing judgement until mid season, but, things are going the right way.

Hugo, I really enjoyed the article.....in fact, the O-line is what I am most excited about follwoed by the Dline. Who would have thought that the injury to Donald Thomas would be a blessing in disguise....Indukwe provides us with an insurance policy if Donald cant become healthy...if he does we now know we have excellent depth. Great article

I think the key to our success has been our oline and mistake free play from the qb. The receivers although they have shown good hands have done nothing above and beyond to help the team. Ronnie has played as well as he ever has these past two weeks and seems if he stays healthy on his way to becoming the back we drafted.

I have full confidence in Long, Carey, Smiley and Satale and hopefully Donald Thomas and Sean Murphy develop into that guy to round out the five. This line is already one of the ten best in the league. Another injury could really derail what we have on the line because we lack depth.

i didn't know the O-Line gave up 4 sacks against the Jets, but oh well,it's really great to see them getting better each week, and starting to gel together as a unit and playing good ball...i hope they keep it up....
