Chargers have two wide receivers as FA prospects. Vincent Jackson will almost surely be resigned but maybe they let Floyd test the market? I think he can be brought in for cheap and the guy has the size/speed combo all great WRs have. He would be a nice compliment to an Antonio Bryant/Miles Austin-type. And theres no diva with him. Hes the Chargers 4th or 5th option yet he still has more catches and receiving yards then Ted Ginn. Not to mention he was a guy who sat the bench to start the year when Chambers was starting.

if we do bring in floyd there will be a lot of question marks still about our wr core.... it will be could floyd be the no.1 wr ? or is he only good with vincent jackson getting the double teams ....

i doubt we bring in malcom floyd AND someone like bryant.... we will probably get a WR.....

i expect our wr's to be

1.floyd or bryant or rookie wr
2.cam
3.bess
4.hartline
5.turner

we trade ginn for a draft pick.

I would love to have him for his size but IMO you still have to find a #1, he definately benefits from talent around him we need to bring in that talent.

i think almost any wr from another team could be a wr1 in our team we have a team full of 3's

I don't think we need anymore tinkering or hoping or guessing. We simply need a real and proven number 1.

I really like Floyd and think he would do well here. I just do not see the FO spending a #1 draft pick or trading draft picks for a #1.

I have a feeling that we are going to add two players at the WR position. Floyd is a nice big target and would be a decent consolation prize if we don't have a shot at a Vincent Jackson, Brandon Marshall, or Anquan Boldin.

good point especially considering who their TE is

is Floyd faster than Turner?

i cant really say me living in CA tho i see a lot of floyd and he does make amazing catches on jump balls and etc but he doesnt really have that seperation of speed hes not that type of wr he does have good hands tho.

honestly the best WR imo that we could get is BOLDIN hes a amazing BEAST i would trade our 2nd for him EASILY

This is what i did in my mock offseason, what do you think about it.

Traded Ginn for draft picks, let camarilo walk, Trade a 2nd and 4th for boldin, and get bryant with the first round pick. thoughts?

I would love floyd though too.

Floyd catches the ball REALLY awkwardly, I don't think he will thrive with Henne's lasers.

let cam walk where? he just signed a extension last year.

i agree with the boldin trade tho.

did he really? o my bad, i was just going off of a website, in that case have him be a 4/5 reciever.

Also, im almost positive that a 2nd and 4th will get it done for BOldin, and i'd take that in a heartbeat.

Malcolm Floyd just isn't that good. I don't see how that really upgrades our WR core. The way I see it.

#1 WR: Boldin, Draft Pick, OR we what we got (Cam/Hartline/Ginn)
#2 WR: Cam or Hartline
#3 WR: Bess
#4 WR: Hopefully Cam or Hartline (if we get another guy i.e. draft pick or Boldin)

I would really love to get Boldin but a consolation would be picking a Dez Bryant type in the draft and HOPING they turn into a #1. Unfortunately, you can only hope with guys that aren't sure fire Top 3 picks (i.e. Fitz, AJ, etc.). If we can't do either, just build the defense as much as you can through FA and the draft and hope like hell we can get through 2010 with what we have. It would be difficult, but these guys have been playing better as they have gotten used to Henne and how he throws the ball. They seem to be getting more on the same page than they were in week 3 and 4.

If we did devote all of our off-season to Defense, I would expect a new ILB to be along side Crowder (DJ Williams, Dansby, etc.) a new FS through FA or the draft, 1 new OLB to replace Porter or Taylor (1 of them have to go so Wake can get more experience), a new DT (boy would it be nice to get Wilfork). With those additions on defense, this would be a much different defense then what we have seen this year. I think if our offense can put up 20+ points/game, we could go deep into the playoffs for 2010. This is also saying we re-sign Ronnie so we can stop over-using Ricky.
