Mami Dolphins QB Question

Has the team ever carried just two QBs on the roster?
My reason is why would any team which has sustained injuries to its quaterback two years in a row carry only two qbs on the roster? I just don't get it with this team, 6 wrs but 2 qbs.

One of the effects of the new rule in the CBA is that teams can carry 46 active players on gameday is that teams are going to a two quarterback roster instead of three on the 53 man roster. The old rule allowed teams to designate a third quarterback on gameday.

As of September 6th the following teams had only two QB's on the roster: Ravens, Bengals, Jaguars, Dolphins, Raiders, Chargers, Falcons, Packers, Saints, Giants, Rams, Bucs, and Redskins have opted to stick with two quarterbacks on the active roster.

I do not think it has much to do with having a franchise signal caller, but just a decision of where positions are needed on the roster. I have no problem with the Fins keeping 2 QB's

That's true, but many of those teams do have franchise QBs or at least top 10 picks.

Actually it was 45 active on gameday. Now it's 46 and if the third QB comes in the starter can come back in.
