Man Oh Man Was That Ugly.....

no way he starts, he hasn't played against a 1st string d. the speed of the defense a whole lot different when you are playing against starters compared to guys who will be looking for a job soon...
he played against the first string RAVENS defense, and did admirably there. while he made some mistakes, that can be expected because it was his first start. He DID put up some decent #'s and of course that awesome bomb to CC that Feeley could never accomplish.

Its true, Frerotte basically didn't even play tonight... I think he played 3 series and on the third series he handed off 3 times in a row... Gus will be the starter, however, I think that Sage has proved he deserves to be the #2 as mush as Felley has proved that he doesn't.

I'm not going to delve into the start Sage or even start Berlin debates but I will say that no one has made Saban's decision anything less than impossible to make.

Saban is going to earn every cent of his salary trying to make chicken salad out of chicken s@*t this year.

we play atlanta this year, we are not going to show anything

Don't you think Atlanta has the same mind set.
I don't think that played a role here. The team got manhandled.

You have to start somewhere, and Sage has made more progress this off-season than Frerotte or Feeley. That's just my opinion, and I stand by it....

Maybe Frerotte should start based on experience, but sooner or later this team is going to have to put points on the board, and Sage is the only QB who's been doing it on a consistant basis this pre-season....

Feeley is horrible, I have no idea why he's even battling for a starting position. He's a career 3rd stringer that's dressed up like a starter, and nothing more.

Frerotte looked decent until a couple of weeks ago. Now he looks shaken, and out of sync with everything. He's certainly not improving on a weekly basis, and his numbers tonight were terrible. I'll have have faith him because I have no choice, but if I could make that choice, I don't think I would....

Sage looks great. Plain and simple, he looks ready to move forward. Why not give him the chance??? This team has absolutely nothing to lose either. I wouldn't want to be coach Saban tonight, he's going to have a very tough decision here based on the QB's. At this stage, he can do no wrong giving it to Sage. I think the fans would actually embrace the idea, and allow it to play itself out.....

I'm tired of the same old. I'm on the SAGE WAGON from here on out.....

Just got back from the game, I think I'm going to be sick.....

That had to be the ugliest playing I've seen since the 62-7 Marino farewell....

Seriously this game was meaningless, but in reality it held signifcant importance considering the state of our QB's, and OL. To my surprise the defense even fell apart tonight to add to the mess that is the Miami Dolphins....

I'm going to try and forget I even went to this game tonight....

The Feeley / Frerotte race is dead as far as I'm concerned. Neither are worthy of starting IMO. Sage is now the only QB on this roster I feel safe with. He's got great arm strength and his accuracy is really starting to show. He has looked comfortable running this offense since the pre-season opener, and I haven't seen half that much from Frerotte or Feeley....

Tonight, Frerotte and Feeley looked absolutely dead out there, and I can only envision what's to come if either one of those two talentless QB's end up starting. I don't want to even think about it right now. I'd rather throw Sage in there and let him take his lumps, at least he can hit an open WR when it presents itself.....

I know I'm venting, but man that was disgusting. I can only pray this is NOT the same team effort we'll be seeing next week when it really matters....

PHINZ RULE!!!!

Ya know what Blitz- why the hell not start Sage? I just finished reading the game summaries in the Herald and the Sentinel and it made me want to puke. There is NO WAY Sage can do any worse than these two clowns.

I just returned from the game and i am now convinced of one thing, A.J. SHOULD BE OUR THIRD STRING Q.B. at best. I just thank God it didn't rain on us tonight. (that's the optimist in me)

Wow, we are in a sad sad state, if were are all conviced to start the third stringer over two others who are third stringers...

Wow....

Perhaps the most lethargic effort in team history. Among the top five. I said to my dad prior to kickoff that the crowd seemed completely listless, unlike the Tampa Bay game. Then the team was even more comatose.

Very difficult to evaluate much from a game like that. Feeley clearly was handed an opportunity and whiffed bigtime. Derrius Thompson stepped up but Gilmore is the more fluid and versatile player and should be kept over Thompson regardless of tonight. Manny Wright was off the ball in a fury all night, long before Nat Moore and Griese mentioned it. Matt Roth can't play. I watched him all night and he is a mediocre athlete with virtually no upside. Channing Crowder sure does celebrate plenty for someone who botches so many plays. He looks much better than I expected versus the pass, but his pursuit angles and instincts on running plays leave plenty to be desired. Travis Daniels has athletic arrogance and skills like one of my Canes.

That Atlanta team is more talented than us and a year more advanced in their schemes with a new regime. Our lack of depth is really sickening at so many positions but OL in particular.

I've yet to see the game tonight, but I always enjoy reading your posts. Like always very indepth and informative.

Keep up the good work, we need more posters on this site like you. And boy do I hope you are wrong about Roth. I thought he looked pretty good in the previous 3 games or so. He's definitely raw, but I don't know if I'd go as far to say that he's got no upside. I'll be interested to see his performance tonight.
