Mando: Coyle almost a done deal

I am sure by tomorrow night our DC will be Coyle and our OC will be Sherman.

Gotta admit, I like this staff so far and the best part about Sherman and Philban is both are aggressive.

I am not as confident on Sherman as everyone is around here. As soon as, Joe was hired I wanted Sherman, but there will be a ton of competition for his services.

You gotta believe.

with Sherman it's competition between us and Cleveland (he has history with Holmgren). Pat Shurmur learnt the hard way why it is important to have an OC. Even if he still calls plays, you need somebody to help out. If they don't get Sherman, they'll go after Shurmur's mentor Brad Childress.

If Shurmer would continue to call the plays, why would Sherman choose them over us? :idk:

Brad Childress is another guy who makes sense if we don't get Sherman.
He is indirectly from the Walsh-Holmgren tree through Andy Reid in Philly. He has loads of experience in all facets of coaching including calling plays.
He may have flopped in Minnesota but he could be really useful as a coordinator.

I could get behind a rejuvenated(following his hiatus from the NFL) Childress as Plan B if the Sherman thing falls through.

Not sure if any of us know enough about Coyle to be excited by him. Personally would rather have promoted Kacy rogers. Not sure why we are that excited by him but maybe he will be a good hire.

LOL Armando can't even get the guy's name right???

I'd like both guys to be in place by tomorrow(or tonight if posible)and they can all start working on what offence and defence we're going to run and start looking at players for both free agency and the draft.

Ozzy rules!!

Coyle is an interesting pick (if that's who we go with). I don't get the connection to Philbin and the huge leap of faith in a relatively unproven coach. I'm hoping somebody knows something the rest of us don't and this pick reaps huge benefits.

Actually, it is the opposite as you say. Philbin and Coyle are close friends and Coyle is anything, but unproven. He has coached in college and the pros longer than most of the players on the team have been alive.
