\Actually, it is the opposite as you say. Philbin and Coyle are close friends and Coyle is anything, but unproven. He has coached in college and the pros longer than most of the players on the team have been alive.

where's the connection from? I've never heard the story on that one?
As far as the coaching experience, I know about his background, but nothing higher than DB coach at the pro level. His college experience, while extensive, wasn't exactly at high profile schools. I also like the amount of experience he has, the question is the level and type? Not saying he won't be succesful, just that it's a little bit of gamble considering.
