Mando: Dolphins not done at QB

Trade up for Blackmon and trade up for Weeden, I'd be happy with that, this would show me they care about winning.
 
Here's something to consider...

Even in low level jobs for high profile organisations - these 'low level' employees receive media training [I should know.. I have one, :)]. So, in respect to...


"Ireland paused after my question, no doubt weighing whether to answer. (He doesn't like to give anything away, not even in hints). And then he said: "There's a chance of that. Let it run its course". Not a yes, I grant you. But neither is it a no.

To me this is a very naive approach from the writer... as it insinuates that he... Ireland, was not suspecting this question and therefore, needed time to think should he answer or not [yeah right], so by doing so, this has been interpreted from the writer as a slight tipping of the hat.

As they say in those parts... "he got played". Of course Ireland is going to be coy and rightly so. He doesn't want to tip his hand to the rest of the NFL who probably have Lackeys dredging through the local beat writers of every team, so he wants to send them thinking, oh, Miami is going after a QB early... they may do so, but whats he going to say, nope, we're fine as we are. It potentially devalues any trade opportunities.

Sometimes said writer does some good things and other times, boy is he a bone head!

Thats exactly what I would do. Obviously Blackmon is a beast and Weeden is a great prospect. Only issue with Weeden is age, so if it wasnt for that he would be a high first round pick. If we move up to get blackmon then use one of our extra picks and our 2nd rounder to get back in the first round to draft Weeden that would be a great move!!! Not only that weeden would feel comfortable in the NFL as he would have his college WR. Then either find or sign right side offensive line help..........then our offseason would be a success !!!

I think this will leave the Dolphins with too few draft picks. We also need an outside pass rusher. I'd suggest trading back from #8 to the mid to late teens, perhaps getting another two. Draft Weeden. Trade the two two's for a late one if Hill from GT is still available. If not, perhaps Fleener or stay pat and take a WR with one of the twos. You can get a descent Pass rusher in either the second or third round with what's left. That DE from Marshall is getting a lot of press. You can even draft Cousins with one of the three's to groom as a long term back up and possible trade bate.
 
Cousins reminds me a lot of Andy Dalton....I wouldn't mind him in the 3rd round

I like him also. I think he would be a good QB tobe drafted and learn from coach Joe. He has the intangibles that coach Joe likes- Intelligence, good leadership, team player etc.
I can't believe some people here are comparing him to Henne....

I think you are correct about him not lasting that long. Specially after his great workout, and lack of good QB's in the 2nd round.
 
Being from the UK i'm not completely sure who Armando is other than he writes for some newspaper or something. But, please, in the name of god, tell me he doesn't get paid for writing obvious crap like this? If so, do they have openings? Pretty sure i could've wasted people's time writing something they all already knew.
