A club source tells me Fisher never requested full authority over the Dolphins. Source says club's understanding was that Fisher and Ireland would work together, agreeing mutually on personnel.]

If this is the reason this deal could not get done than its such BS, this is how a winning organization and franchise gets it done, the owner, gm, coach all work together to build structure in the organization, u dont just let the GM do everything without any insight from the head coach, it needs to be a partnership not a dictatorship and let Ireland run the whole damn show! this front office and franchise is a mess!

I wanted Fisher, but not if Fisher was given full control. However, if the hang up was indeed more co-control, I don't know what to think. Guess it doesn't matter now. Ross has thrown all his eggs in Irelands basket.

Ross blinked.

Ireland bought himself another couple of years around here. I hope Ross runs him out of town next season when the ticket sales drop again because of all the losses.
I guess the only silver lining is that we will be in play for Matt Barkley.

Ross...fine businessman...incompetent owner. Get used to more mediocrity as long as Ireland runs the show

Ross, an owner who's main sounding board is no less than King Carl himself, shouldn't surprize anyone that he believes in the GM having the last work on personel matters.

No it's not how winning teams get things done. Winning teams get thing done by the owner staying out of the way, GMs picking personnel, and coaches doing what they do best...COACHING.

Please name the teams who's GM doesnt!

If this is even a little bit true, I'm gonna chop that mother****ers ears off.

This sounds like BS, sometimes got to have final say, and I have no problem with that person being ireland...he's made better moves than he's been given credit for

If Ireland had anything to do with not getting the coach they wanted, this organization deserves its losing ways.
