Mando: Manning is #1 Priority, phins showing no interest in Flynn

Manning is not our "franchise QB" he's a stop gap. I'm feeling smokescreen written all over this..

Manning is a smokescreen! Ross wants RG3 and the marketing he will bring with him. Hopefully, Washington takes the bait and gets Manning!

Of course they aren't showing any interest in Flynn, if they did they would be raising the asking price. I'm sure Green Bay is thinking draft picks and the Dolphins are thinking getting him for free. They're going to go through every alternative and then "fall back" on Flynn.

I've lost all respect for Armando as a sports writer. He is full of hot air and mostly writes science fiction. Don't believe anything this moron writes.

Not that I trust Mando, if Philbin doesn't want Flynn there's a reason for that. He's seen him in practice every day. I think if Philbin sees a franchise QB in Flynn we will go all in to get him. Flynn is not an unknown commodity to Philbin like he is to all of us and all the other teams. If he's got what it takes, you have to think we'll do what it takes to get him.

Those who don't want Flynn will be crying when we give up the farm for RG3. Personally, I'll take any of the three over the **** we have now.

A stop gap that we could potentially win a superbowl with. Our roster is far more talented than the Colts, and he had them in the Super Bowl a few years ago. This "stop gap" guy in 2 or 3 years could do something that no long term solution, even Dan Marino, could do in over 30 years. I take the chance on Manning and hope for a Super Bowl.

GB thinking "draft picks". How is that? Flynn is a FA...

I don't want Manning, as undeniably great as he has been. He has worked with many of the same players and in the same system, (his, basically) for his entire career. There is no guarantee that he would succeed right away with our players in a new system. If we change the system to accommodate Peyton, then it's a new system for the rest of the team. He has had a HOF career, but with his age, health and other issues I would not want to put all our eggs in this basket. If it takes a couple years for the system to gel, he could be done. Plus, you never know when one hit could end his career. If I were him I would retire.

peyton or rg3

dolphins all in for peyton

Why would Philbin prefer to pursue the 36 year old Manning ? who is going to be questionable when and if he ever plays again. Apparently he doesn't think as highly of Flynn as we had originally hoped. Perhaps he believes in his system so much, that he thinks Flynn is just a product of it, thus not worthy of a contract almost similar to what manning would command. Especially not when you already have the now proven/serviceable Matt Moore. I guess they see Manning as they only immediate upgrade from him.

No doubt it would have been better to hear Philbin say : "We going to go out and get Matt Flynn, he can lead this team for the next 10 years."
But " We're gunna throw tons of money at Peyton Manning and hope he can play football." is where we're at now, if this isn't just a big smokescreen.
